Star Trek Nemesis style padds

Hey buddy, I want one of those torch pens for my PADDs. Make me one please! ;-)

here are some of mine. but I still recommend the insurrection style.

I recently sold the large one to a board member here, the red one went MIA when I moved, and the small silver is in the closet.

Do they still sell the torch pens in stores? I remember I used to have like three, ended up tossing them cause I wasent using them :( I'm sure you can find them on the bay, then it's just a small placement of some silver tape and there done, easy prop, I might look for some, there cool to have on display

Slightly OT, but what about the huge PADD that Picard uses when discussing Borg-fighting strategy in the armory in First Contact? Was that based on an actual item or was it a custom one-off?

At first I thought this was a superimposed image over a blank prop. Now looking it, it almost appears to be some sort of flat panel monitor or TV that's been disguised as a PADD laying down. The not so great resolution leads me to believe that this is a practical effect.

That's the one. It's been a while since I've seen the movie, but I now remember the mediocre-quality animated graphics. I also remember that we never see the prop move from the table, so I'm betting that you're right about it being a disguised flat-panel display.

if you look at the corner that's on the left side of the picture it seems like the PADD is IN the table.

Anyone know what do the small cabin light boxes go for?

FB

They are not cheap . . . if you can find them. If you are lucky you can find them for about $150.

I have an extra fresh out of the box that I will sell for $200 if anyone is interested

Does it even have to be a flat panel? Would it have been? Remember this was 1995 or 1996. How common and available were flat panels? A monitor with a flat glass display would have been more common and could have also been easily disguised under the table.

Seems to me if you look close enough it isn't flat at all,but a regular CRT.You can see the curvature most on the graphics separating the different quadrants of the screen.:lol
With iPads and all else, TNG tech, PADDS in particular, seem far more dated than I would have thought.:unsure

Yup, I do see the curve. Looks like it's just a regular monitor. People forget this was fifteen years ago. Didn't have plasmas and LCDs all over the place. Maybe people forget that too.

Sweet :) Where do we get the diagrams to fit into the EL sheets. I would like to have a starship schematic on the wall :)
