Star Trek Into Darkness (Pre-release)

Too late, he's already done that, just go to IMDB and see how many eggs he has cooking this year and are planned for next year.

I know, but it's too early to say how it affects these franchises until we see the films.

Also, he's the director for Star Wars. Most of his other failures are from a producing standpoint. We'll just have to see.

Hey...Cloverfield was a good monster flick...:confused

I'm not very studied on all things Star Trek, but wouldn't it be awesome if they had Kirk fight a Gorn and he some how someway kills it with a large rock!

Well, I had a pastrami on marbled rye for lunch.

I think it's pretty much set in stone that a cross over will happen now! Search your feelings, you know it to be true! :lol

Mark this day, I have for seen it.

Well, here is what I have decided. Go see Star Wreck into Darkness and just watch it as a new fan! This is Trek Today. If it's a good story, I'll give it a pass and just forget the continuity issues.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that Jack Black will be playing Harry Mudd yet!

Not a chance! :lol

That's nice. I have foreseen that it won't. ;):lol

Trek is beyond "good story" though. They spent 50 years building a universe with rules and expectations that, for the most part, works. NuTrek doesn't "work". ;)

I'll go see it, I'll turn my brain off and enjoy it, but like the last one I'll start to think about it and it'll bug me to no end. :lol

Don't even joke man! Not cool...

Just watched Super 8 this weekend.
Total Meh.

Have you no SOUL?!

And how well did ET perform when compared to his other movies?
How is that relevent to suggesting JJ has "daddy issues" because of his story choice in super 8? Are your suggesting if the father had been dead in super 8, it would have been a more successful film? I've heard plenty of people critical of the film, just not that particular complaint. I've also never heard anyone suggest that Steven had "mommy" issues because of his choice to have the the father absent in ET. The mother's absence in the film is clearly a major part of the story. I guess I just seperate JJ as a person from his choices when he is writing a work of fiction.

So mothers are only important if they're absent? So far, that's certainly a trend for JJ. Kirk's mother was said to still be alive, but since mothers are only good absent, we have to replace her with a father-figure in the form of Pike to tell Kirk all about his father. Obviously George's own wife wouldn't be able to tell her own son how bravely his father sacrificed himself than a person who never met him. And Spock's mother? Classic fridge case. She's not meant to be a character. She's meant to be an emotional anchor for only our male characters to benefit from.

I have a mother, and unlike JJ I don't put her in the corner so I can relish in my daddy issues.

So you just relish your daddy issues no matter where your mother is then?

BAH DOOM BOOM!!!

Sorry dude, it was right there, I had to take swing at it. ;)
