Star Trek Into Darkness (Pre-release)

It hardly has a neck Darth.

I never said it did.

Just because it won't be 100% accurate doesn't mean they can't try to make it as accurate as possible with what they've got.

What "they've got" is bulky building blocks for little kids....You actually think an Enterprise toy for toddlers is supposed to be representative of accuracy?
The only ones interested in uber-accuracy will be grown up hobbyists like ourselves....And I doubt they'll be opting for a KRE-O toy line

Ill see your KRE-O Enterprise FOR TODDLERS and raise you QMX enterprise -

Well, if one of those warp pylons breaks... I don't know. For the $ tag and the thought of seeing those warp engines possibly arching downwards over time is not a pleasant one.

So now you're complaining about what "might" happen to the pylons?
:lol

For what it's worth, I see Jeyk's point about the KRE-O Enterprise, I think his point is not that it's totally inaccurate (which it definitely is) but that it could be more accurate even within the limitations of the medium. Bulky building blocks or not, there's no real reason that they couldn't have given the thing more of a neck thus making it more accurate.

As for the QMX model/replica, I somehow doubt that the pylons are going to droop over time, at least not noticeably, Sure it will drop some over time but it would almost certainly take very precise instruments to measure the droop which would be otherwise imperceptible to the naked eye. At least I'd certainly hope so give how much QMX is probably asking for it.

At least with Lego or even the knock off rendition we have here, we can simply put it back together. :cool See? Even with a crummy design I can give it props over a $7,000 model.

So let me get this straight - Every product on the market is prone to damage, but only The QMX model (Because its based on JJ trek) is required to be indistructable?

Your arguments get more and more absurd as the thread lengthens.
Just looking for anything to bash this film.:lol

Still not sure what the accuracy of Lego/KRE-O Enterprise has to do with the movie....Maybe you should write a letter to KRE-O.

Nice spin....QMX is currently suspended pre orders untill it can get the production on schedule- for $6,995.00.

Darth, why don't stop acting like a complete bigot every time I say something and instead discuss your argument in a way that doesn't misrepresent what I say?

Also, Paramount just released a new story synopsis for Trek13. Unfortunately, it does not include any detonating.

"With Earth under terrorist attack from Benedict Cumberbatch’s ex-Starfleet employee John Harrison, Kirk is this time forced into a rash decision that breaks a critical Starfleet command, puts his crew in danger & costs him his captain’s chair. Now out of uniform and dressed down in space civvies of black leather jackets and boots, our three heroes have separated from the Enterprise and headed off on a mission to try and rectify his mistake…"

Are Kirk's clothes really that important to the overall plot? Not even Men In Black's synopsis was that descriptive about the characters' attire.

I posted that synopsis a page ago. Perhaps keeping up with the actual discussion of the film as opposed to the myriad of rabbit holes you are going down would be less redundant.

A bigot would imply im some kind of racist, which is not the case here.
If theres any kind of metaphoric "bigotry", then you would be the guilty party. You seeme to have gone to the ends of the earth to find the smallest, most asinine complaints about the new trek film. We've already seen your 40 pages worth of complaints, we already know you dont like the new franchise, so how about just letting thread run it's course for people who actually might be looking forward to the film....Without complaints about lens flare, or how accurate the lego Enterprise is, how the movie poster looks, what kind of clothes Kirk is wearing, nitpicking the synopsis, etc.
You're really coming off as mentally unstable.

So now Kirk's clothes are under scrutiny?...Or is the the synopsis of the story?

:lol:lol

Without complaints about lens

Uh, I only brought up lens flares to jokingly identify the authenticity of a clip. I've never complained about them here in this thread. And what's wrong with complaining about lens flares? It's a visual element in a visual medium, and JJ went to great lengths to make it prominent. If that bugs some folks here, it's not trivial. It's important.

My bad, yeah still too rich for my blood. Wow who spends that kind of money on a qMX replica? I'd rather pay someone from the RPF community to make one for me, if spending that kind of dough.

So does anyone strongly believe that Cumberbatch will play this 'John Harrison'? Or do you believe its a PR thing to throw fans off, like how some films go under a different name while in production?

*Trying to get thread back on track:lol
