I could see it happening.

If you just pulled your phaser from the holster pocket that is how it would end up.
You have to spin/flip it in your hand after drawing it.

I thought it was so cool when Kirk did it but now... yeah not a way to handle a firearm that can disintegrate.

And these jackets are still the best looking field gear in science fiction. The only thing comes close is the Starfleet tactical sweaters.

Hello! I was wondering if there was a way to pick up one of these boxes for my collection...I'm a military guy but have limited time or access to 3D printers etc for a project like this and it is the hardest thing to find something quality. There is a cosplay guide on making the field jacket that came out 1 year ago, written by David Pipgras. It’s very detailed on fabrics and other things needed.
He will be offering a sewing pattern for this as well; it’s currently undergoing beta testing (I’m one of the people trying it out).
You can get Cosplayers Essential guides on Amazon. Vol 1 is monster maroon, vol 2 is enlisted jumpsuit, vol 3 is Field Jacket + Kirk’s TWOK vest, and vol 4 just came out (Bomber Jacket).

I also had lucky find: I got 20 of the metal ball zipper pulls, and was able to transfer it to the correct zipper slider for zipper used. If you or Felgacarb would like one; let me know and I can send one (I’m just asking for ship cost- no charge for the zipper pull). It runs around $6 for shipping in US.
