I bought this from Comm510 about 15 years ago and it is a really great prop. I love that it has screen accurate sound.
There are some nice replicas out there that have the light flashing pattern down to a tee but the sound is an inaccurate beeping rather than the sort of resonant swooshing sound that you'd hear on-screen.

Ha my one... maybe a Gm props one... from 20 years or so ago had beeps :p Thats nice... Any idea what the sound chip is?

I can't speak for what's in this scanner, but GMprops uses APlus India's ap89170 chip in his boards for tricorders, etc. It, or one of it's siblings, would definitely be small enough to fit in a tric scanner body like this one.

I managed to successfully buy a handful of through-hole and SMD versions from www.kowatec.com if you're like me and happen to be asking because you want something better than the "greeting card" chip-on-board setups but smaller than a whole Arduino Nano for some simple audio playback just to go along with button presses.

Not all reproductions use piezo tone generated sounds. I did a few that used a wav file and planned for a larger run using a COB board but sadly most people seemed content with the piezo tones. Personally I'd much rather have the sound as close to what we heard on TV.

Amazing!
Do you have anymore of those circuits? I would love a Voyager style with the yellow chaser lights and green end light that has screen accurate sound.

I'll check. I made very few and that was a several years ago, if memory serves, I used all but two which I planned for future personal builds.
