Star Trek: Captain Worf - New TV Series??

Re: Star Trek: Captain Work - New TV Series??

I can't see this happening - remember all the "Captain Sulu" rumors and such?

I have to give DS9 credit though - Worf was of average interest (kind of a background) character in TNG, but really got to be an interesting characternin DS9.

Re: Star Trek: Captain Work - New TV Series??

certainly would make for interesting story lines with a Klingon as a captain of a federation vessel. He'd be more like Capt Kirk... ready to fight and ready to break the rules to make things work. would be more action oriented I would think which would make it exciting. Its the only way I can think to bring ST back to TV without rehashing all the stories and plots that were already rehashed a thousand times in TNG, Voyager and Enterprise... seems like everytime I watched Enterprise or Voyager I kept thinking to self, "this was already done on TNG years ago! :D

would be nice to see ST on tv again.

Re: Star Trek: Captain Work - New TV Series??

Wasn't he already captain of the Reliant in DS9?

Re: Star Trek: Captain Work - New TV Series??

He was first officer of the Defiant on DS9.

Any new Trek on TV would be nice, as long as Berman and Braga aren't allowed in the building.

Yeah, give it to Abrams and let him destroy more of the known planets in the Star Trek universe. :D:lol

One would hope that a Worf-centric series would be set in the Prime Universe so Abrams wouldn't be anywhere near it. JJ's too busy with Star Wars to be a real concern for whatever tv show may come. It's B&B I'm concerned about, do they even have jobs these days?

Sorry but Worf was a wuss. He was always getting hurt. Now if they made it a comedy...that would be pure gold! It could be sort of a sitcom. I can see it now. Worf, some random Mom, Alexander in trouble as usual. Worf is angry, Alexander "I don't want to be a Klingon" wife...guess who" s gonna be a Daddy? Worf: "perhaps today is a good day for a vasectomy".

HAHAHAHHAHAHA!

I remember seeing rumors about this last year. It won't happen.

Worf had a little too much "mid-life crisis" theme going on for my taste anyway. Even in DS9.

Old news.

I posted on the other thread about this that there was not enough Money they could throw at Michael to sit in that make-up chair again.

Looks like I was wrong! :lol

He sure didn't seem to say no about the TNG movies either when it came to cash. And it's not like his career is really doing much; a few game and animation jobs here and there. Though he should look into getting "I am Weasel" back on the air.

Not that it would probably matter...

But this would of course retcon the DS9 episode "Change of Heart" in which Worf breaks Starfleet orders to rescue Dax, and Sisko tells him that he will never be given a command of his own as a result.

Just the nitpicky Trekkie in me bringing this up. :lol

I mean "I" certainly wouldn't watch a show about a "Captain Worf" with this glaring discrepancy! ;)

No retcon would be needed since we only have Sisko's word on it and it's not like he's an admiral and/or Chief of Starfleet Personnel, he can certainly make recommendations but the powers that be can override his recommendation if they wanted to do so; that's assuming that Sisko's is threatening Worf and not just warning him. If it's a matter of a warning of what Starfleet might do then it's still a matter of what they might and there could easily be a changing of the guard by the time Worf is up for promotion receive his first command or he could easily do something or some things that would cause Starfleet to change their minds and give him a command or they could just be facing a crisis and good captains are in short supply.

Agreed. Besides, Sisko had only recently been given the rank himself correct? Hardly an authority on the matter. :)

Looks like he is getting bored.

It's been years since the last time I talked with him, told him to start a band! :lol

I could imagine, it's not like he's been doing all that much lately. Outside of a few appearances on Castle as Beckett's shrink I don't know when the last time I saw him anything not Star Trek related was. He seems to have fallen into the same hole that most genre actors do once they're show has been canceled, outside of a few big named actors like Shatner, Nimoy, Brent Spiner, Patrick Stewart, and Nathan Fillion, how many other genre actors find a lot of work after their series has been canceled? They either quietly retire from acting and make their money on the convention circuit signing autographs or they do a lot stage work, and/or the occasional guest role on other shows but never getting regular cast status on another show.
