I'm upgrading mine at the moment, and this thing was built not to be taken apart, a pain in the ass! The plugs that hold the cowl to the main body are apoxy'd in there really good, you can't just pop them off, and there isent screws inside, there is a metal rod going from one end to the other. I took a drill and carefully drilled out the plugs, be very carefull not to drill the part of the cowl that will be seen, just the plugs, when those are gone I took a screwdriver and hammered the metal pin out, it's in there really good, so it will take some time to get one end poping out, then take a pair of pliers and pull it through. The plugs are useless at this point so your gonna have to get a set of snake eye screws to replace them, witch are actually what was used on the real prop so that's a plus. I still haven't figured out how to et the main bod apart without really messing the piece up, but when the cowl is off it comes apart and the emiter comes out and you can hollow it out for a laser diode.
