Here's my pictures from the 2015 Calgary Expo. I was only able to attend for one day, but I had a great time. Saw lots of great costumes, met some nice people and almost died of heat exhaustion.

My costume held together perfectly! No issues whatseoever. I could only wear the helmet for about 20 minutes at a time before taking a break, but that was something I expected. The red lenses worked really well, vision was fine.

Once I get my new, improved jacket in I plan to do a professional photo shoot with the entire costume. Until then, these con photos will suffice.

More to come, eventually. Still need to install my Risu lens kit into the helmet, and paint my blasters.

Stole the clip from an old tape measure and glued it to the back of my resin Walkman.

Got my new jacket in from Dannylopuz a few weeks ago and I LOVE IT. Such a nice piece.

My next con is in September, at the Edmonton Expo. Still need to paint my rocket boots and finish up my guns.

Been slowly chipping away at the new helmet I started working on...

First I bought all the supplies for painting the helmet.

Started off with a coat of white primer.

Then a solid coat of gunmetal.

Then I painted all the gold sections.

Then I masked off and painted the silver details on the front of Star-Lord's mask.

The helmet was looking a little too new and shiny for my tastes so I went to town with the weathering.

Waiting on my lenses from Risu to finish the helmet off. More to come.

That is an awesome paint job and great weathering! Can you tell me where you got the foam for the interior of the helmet? I need some thing padding for mine, but have no idea what I need.

Check out a craft/fabric store for upholstery foam. 1" should be thick enough. You can buy it in small (18"-24" maybe) squares and cut out what you need
