Re: Star Lord/Peter Quill sling bag screened Fabric (It's not a purse!) Guardians Gal

I have some new samples to show:

Here is what the final screened color looks like on the lighter fabric. It has a slight greenish metallic hue.

Both light and dark.

Here is what it looks like compared to the actual samples. I may still go a little darker for the paint on the brown fabric.

I'm finding that most likely 2 sheets of the lighter fabric will be needed to construct a full size bag. For those that order 2 or more sheets of the same color I'm going to do my best to align the prints and put them on a single piece of fabric that will measure approx 21" x 14". It's very difficult to get this pattern to align properly though, so it isn't going to be perfect. Here is what a typical double print will look like:

I did find however that 1 sheet of the darker fabric is just large enough for all 7 trapezoidial (I think I just made up a word ) panels.

I constructed these last night:

(I don't have my leather straps yet, so I put a piece of elastic in there as a place holder.)

I'll post more pics of my panel construction in the general sling bag thread shortly.

If we need 2 then update mine to 2 of each please.

Re: Star Lord/Peter Quill sling bag screened Fabric (It's not a purse!) Guardians Gal

Please update mine as well, 2 light, 1 dark.

Re: Star Lord/Peter Quill sling bag screened Fabric (It's not a purse!) Guardians Gal

Are all the darker fabric pieces as washed out? They dont seem to be taking the ink as good as the lighter stuff? The light stuff seems tighter.

Did you try washing the fabric first then screening? Maybe the fabric would take the screen better?

I think it's just a matter of contrast. The camera is having a hard time picking up the color in some of the pics above. Part of the reason I'm thinking of going with a darker shade. Also the lighting. The color/contrast can look quite a bit different under various lighting. For example:

Here's also a little bit better shot of the dark under direct light:

cool, it was looking a bit funny in some of the pics, I can see how that could happen with lighting.

Looks great :) can't wait to start mine. I have buckles coming and have to order those oval eyelets and snap and caps like those.
