Hey Guys, this is one of those kits I have done 5 or 10 minutes here on there since I got it from Steve at WF back in May....now with 2 kids running me into the ground I have been trying to force myself to work on something for myself at the end of the day after everyone else is asleep, this is what is current on that "after hours" bench....Steve also asked me to post this up hoping it may help anyone else currently working on one...

So far the tricky part has been doing the seam line fill work on the rails that go around the edge of the wings, tricky because if you are not careful you could get filler on the detail parts, I was careful and taped up the detail stuff while i did filler work.

Other than that I have wired up my new favorite LED's, they are 4 chip superflux superbrights from oznium, they act a bit more like regular bulbs rather than most LED's that have that pinpoint thing going on.

I rigged up a mount for the pipe with some scrap and when added to the acrylic armature stuff that Steve includes it will be nice and sturdy when all put together, any warping you see in that body will all get pulled together nicely when the time is right.

I also made myself a lens for the back, which will be molded and cast in clear to help diffuse the light from the LED's...

Hope this helps anyone else out there building, more to come but slowly...

This is perfect Mike cause its my next kit! Nice work. Those lights are kool Mike. She really looks a big bird to build. My son will love it.

I bought some micro blue neon tubing for my engines ,however these led's look much better. Mike will you be offering those diffusers when moulded?

Not too much, made the mold for the lens, just need to make a couple of clear castings and see how the LED's look thru them. Other than that it's been a crazy week or two so not much progress...

Not really, freezing weather has me ground to a halt a bit....I was looking at this earlier today to figure out a plan to finish it, if i get a lucky warm day i may try to cast up the clear engine bits so i can proceed with buttoning up the body and finish the lights...
thanks
mike

I know the feeling , opposite over here though. extremely hot. The top half of the body on mine has warped and looks more like the surface of a swimming pool . If you cast up any extra clear bits , i'm in for one please. Its the only thing i don't have. Just sorted the blinking led's for the wing tips, just waiting on the cooler weather.

thanks Mike.................simon.
