Started Vacuum forming on the Cone. got a few pulls. and will do a few more tomorrow. looks good. now the fun part of cutting it up and putting it together. the parts are just rough cut and still need to be measured and trimmed.

We used 3mm for the base. and going to use a mix of thinner plastic to build up the layers on the cone to get the desired effect. still have a few more pulls. have to adjust the fomer because the cones so big, i need to put bigger guide rails to get a smooth transition onto the pattern with the plastic. right now one or two have a slight sag at the top. no big deal, but it bothers so im going to fix it.

Finished Vac forming the upper part of the cone. need a bunch of pulls to make the different layers to wrap around and get that layered effect.

Also got a little more done on the Cargo boxes. they still need a little more putty and another shot of primer. plus need the center Cladding and the upper grating should be here on Tuesday then i can get these in silicone.

Stormy. i use autobody sand paper. continuous sheet roll its sticky on the back and i cut several pieces of left over sintra in different sizes depending on what im sanding and stick the paper to that. i have a few with rougher grits and some with finer grits. works great for a nice flat sanding block. ill take a few pics of them next post. if you look back at earlier posts you might see a few in the pics.

Great Tip Al, I use the acrylic stands from a broken MR Han blaster case with paper stuck to it, its my newest best tool
