Squeeze, dont pull.....A replica movie firearm collection.

Been doing the regular changing around of things and have headed in a different way of displaying my stuff. Trying to have everything on display in such a small room has not worked so am grouping things a lot differently.

The first new grouping is of all my replica weapons. Before i started collecting Blade Runner stuff, was never into them at all but after i put my first blaster together, it kinda grew on me.

SIDKIT ALL METAL BLASTER.
Pretty much the first thing i put together and will always be my all time favorite. This is the pre Worldcon version but i later modified it to the World Con lighting rig.

very nice collection. Although I thought this thread would be about props from the movie kiss kiss bang bang

Re: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

Thanks guys

Nah Russ, but i always loved the title and John Barry song.

Im trying for that `less is more` feel and dealing with the fact that some stuff has to be packed away.

Re: Squezze, dont pull.....A replica weapon collection.

After a long, drawn out affair with a couple of government agencies and eventually jumping through all the right hoops, got a permit as a collector for prohibited firearms and subsequently, customs released this into my possession.

The kit itself is really clean and straight and needs minimum prep to say the least, now its just a matter of finding some time to go through all the reference matter on different builds and finish it off.

Re: Squezze, dont pull.....A replica movie firearm collection.

Got the doopy kit finished and really happy with the way it turned out as i put a minimum of preperation into it. Used a new paint called metallic charcoal, new for the brand i use anyway and it comes up great, will even redo some other guns with it. Added some bits to the scope and played with the traditional style a little. Will get around to making the trigger right, the dremmel burned out. Very happy to add the DL 44 to the collection.

where in the world are you?
seems a lot of hoops to jump through for a few bits of resin :)

We have some trouble with weapons and silly laws in the UK, but not to the extent where they'd seize a resin kit.

Re: Squezze, dont pull.....A replica movie firearm collection.

I love your weapons display.mine I have a problem with moving allot.and just putting the weapons into one box is allot easier than big displays. but they don't look good just hanging on a wall and get dusty real easy.hope to display my guns some other way in the near future.your stuff looks fantastic.

I think the end result made it worthwhile Nobby. I went through the process not for the blaster but because it means that i never have to worry about anything being seized ever again and i can continue to grow the collection without fear of legal issues in the future.
I used to think the same way you do about silly laws and that they wouldnt seize a resin kit, the seizure notice from Australian Customs changed that pretty quickly.

Thanks very much sean, i had to store the replicas in the lockable cabinet and had some acrylic stands lying around and they just fell into place.
