Spot filler

I've got a project I'm going to be starting on soon that requires some filling, but there's too much detail for bondo. I saw a video tutorial on the 405th a couple weeks ago where the guy used this reddish stuff from a squeeze tube that was thinner than the bondo to fill in some small imperfections. Unfortunately he used some music in the video and youtube deleted the audio, so if he said what the name of the stuff was you wouldn't know it. I would PM him and ask, but the 405th has been down for the last couple of days. Does anybody know what that stuff is? I looked at home depot and they suggested this spackling stuff in a squeeze tube, but I wasn't sure if it's the same stuff because the tube didn't look the same. Any help would be appreciated.

There are a couple differant type of spot fill also. One part use it right out of the tube. I perssonnaly hate the stuff it takes too to harden. I think it doesn't stick as well as the 2 part type. The 2 part is alot like the regular body filler but smoother. It is white filler and a colored hardener usually blue or red. Either one is a personnal prefferance. There is also squadron green it is a modal builder spot filler. It is maybe the better of the one part spot filler. It may also be the only one that is green. NOTICE I may have not spelled squadron green correctly. You can get that at a hobby store. They will know what you need if you ask for the grenn spot filler.
Hope this elps.

Yea, the stuff this guy used was way thinner than the auto body filler with the red hardener, I want to avoid using that stuff if possible, because I've used it a bit on some armor and it seems way too thick to fill in the cracks on this piece without ruining the design. If all else fails, I'll use that, but I can wait a while for it to harden if that's what it takes.

Bondo makes a glazing/spot putty that you can get at any auto parts store. Personally I prefer the 3M glazing putty, that you can get at auto body supply stores or Grainger. It comes in blue and red, the red drys faster.

If its really small you can use super glue and put some Baking powder of it. That should fill it up nicely.

yes, this is the one i'm talking about

Excellent, there's a Grainger right by the LB airport, added to my list of stops to make tomorrow. Thanks!

I ended up having to go to a Kragen auto parts store, I got the bondo brand putty. I might give it a try tomorrow.
