After watching my favorite episode of The Tick recently, I decided to make a replica of the Little Wooden Boy.

The hardest part of this replica was duplicating the "craftsmanship" of a giant blue lunatic.

You SOB... I was, quite literally, discussing making this earlier today. This is why I don't discuss the things I want to do :(

Awesome, man. I've been thinking of animated Tick props, and this and the giant Swiss Army backpacks keep coming up

    BwhHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Ok... hold on.... let me catch my breath....

That is awesome BlindSquirrel. I'm quite a fan of The Tick animated series myself. The Little Wooden Boy is a great idea for a prop project, and you executed it well. Now how about a giant asprin :lol

    Good work.

First.. Why don't I see avitars?

Very cool. That's the second LWB I've seen on the RPF. The first one was made a few years ago, I forget by who, then they payed it forward (gave it away) to another member (who I forget). ;)

I made one of those for a friend moving to the other side of the coutry from me. He was a tick fanatic.

Out of curiosity, how did you estimate your measurements? In other words, did you just assume that the "real" LWB was made from a piece of 2x4, then decide on a length by making comparisons from screencaps?

Inquiring minds want to know. :D

You're right. After I took a bunch of screencaps, I ASSUMED that Tick started with a 2x4 (evidenced by his limited building skills) and then based everything else on that. There was ONE frame that had a good flat view of LWB's face so I was able to make an accurate template (although, being animated, it changed from scene to scene).

The gouge was the trickiest part as I was able to get an accurate outline of it from the caps but then had to translate that into 3D.

Thanks (everyone) for the great feedback.

No kit, but I did make 2 extras (I kept the best one) that I will probably put on eBay soon. Watch the Junkyard for that.

Well, at least there was a difference in the execution... I planned on doing the whole thing (minus nails) as a sculpt so that I could make duplicates for my friends :D
