Ahem ... COPPER and ALUMINIUM.I actually kind of like this saber in primer grey.
But I still stand by my opinion when it’s all Rose good and chrome. Blech.

Indeed! A cool little touch, flashes of other colors before it goes gold. What is going on with the activation? I see green light, then blue, then gold?
I like to think that it was attuning to Rey's jedi path.Indeed! A cool little touch, flashes of other colors before it goes gold.
I think you're right about that part being a little longer and more flat edged. Also, if you'll notice, right beneath the emitter is an extra section between two existing pieces.I’ll say the only difference to the staff parts I see is the section just below the cloth wrapping. It looks a bit longer and more flat instead of rounded.

I found an a image from a 3D esty model that clearly shows the lightsaber Rey makes including the turn switch.Yes indeed. On both sides.
I'll throw in that I found out copper and aluminum react with one another when fitted together. The Nicksdad sabers sometimes locked together because the windvane.. oxidized? or something? on the surface pressed against the aluminum. I clear coated the copper neck to fix this.
Here is someone on Thingiverse who made a in progress model.I found an a image from a 3D esty model that clearly shows the lightsaber Rey makes including the turn switch.
Yup, never mix your metals![]()
It never occurred to me that this could be the first time she activated her saberI like to think that it was attuning to Rey's jedi path.
Or your metaphors.Yup, never mix your metals![]()
Can I point something out to you that I noticed? OUTSTANDING job BTW, just something that stood out.Or your metaphors.

The profile of these struts seem to have a swoop / curve to them.

and also the emitter rings appear to be either rounded or beveled on the top edges (right edges in this photo)

Fantastic job so far. It looks amazing!
Since I used to sell Rey staffs on Etsy, I already had most of what I needed to create Rey's new saber. Was excited to work on the mechanical opening but starting to sound like most people want a blade to fit more than they want the end to open.
Neat. Personally I'm more interested in a hilt that is accurate and functional for display than I am interested in installing it with a blade. One with functional "teeth" sounds awesome.Since I used to sell Rey staffs on Etsy, I already had most of what I needed to create Rey's new saber.
