Spider-Man mask

Super Glue (or Crazy Glue) bonds almost immediately do the dry time is seconds. Fully cured after a minute or two.

Sharpie makes a good silver, just don’t know how well it takes to rubber bands. It can be picked up at most stores like Walmart or Office Depot. Pretty much anywhere you can get Office or school supplies.
So I should use crazy glue huh?

Either one will do it, they are both cyanoacrylates it’s just a brand name so which ever you can find. Gorilla Glue has them as well but if you just buy a store brand Super Glue you’ll save a few dollars.

Well I mean the gorilla glue I have here says it takes two hours to dry and I don't think I have the time for that!

EDIT: it also says 24 hours for full cure.

Haha that’s because you don’t have the Gorilla Super Glue. Gorilla makes about 10 different types of glue. Just stick with any brand Super Glue. Walmart has Loctite Super Glue for about $2.50 or so.

OMG you are so right! I looked on Amazon for crazy glue and it's like five dollars! And I also checked some other stuff, it bonds to rubber really well and yeah it dries within two minutes! THANK YOU!

So today I got a lot of work done! I cut the eye holes in mask! And also I have one lens almost done! Here are the progress pics!

Update: I've been working on the webs today! And unfortunately the lens I did was scrapped. It wasn't very good and the mesh was getting torn.:( But! Here is the pic of my web progress!:)

Edit: sorry about the stuff to the side, my rubber bands and markers are there cause I was using them for the webs. The Rubik cube was there cause I was playing with it!:p

Update everyone. Due to the fact that I didn't have proper materials and I had a low budget and inadequate experience my mask is starting to fall apart. Here are some pics. (Ironically the pics make it looks better)

No actual budget !
Not much skill set !
Inadequate materials !
You young man have done a great job, doing something is learning, hopefully you have learned something from your first build and take it to the next build

If you are making another mask, I would be happy to send you one of my prototype faceshells (foam or reinforced cardboard/filler) for you to work on as a base for free (pending shipping costs). Drop me a message.

This is a great thread and you have done an awesome job!

My house is filled with failed versions of everything I've ever tried, that's the fun part! That's how I learn and get better. It's not even about the budget. I just did 10 silicone casts before I got one that was even within fixing range of being serviceable. If it was easy, I wouldn't be proud of the accomplishment.

Keep it up and keep posting the lessons you learn!

Silver markers tend to leave streaks because each line does not "blend" with one another. I would look for a silver paint pen that leaves a decent layer of paint that could be blended into itself for a nice smooth, even-colored finish. I've tried coloring things in with silver sharpies and the individual lines show. A paint marker/pen may drip if used on the side of the rubber bands so maybe a sharpie for the sides where the surface area can be covered in one marker swipe. That way you don't drip silver paint marker on all of your hard work :)

Thank you everyone! I didn't know that you all cared so much! I am sorry I took so long to respond, I just got home from summer camp! I just appreciate all the nice comments and help you all have given me! And by the way everyone I am considering making an mcu spidey suit and mask! Tell me if you think I should!
