I loved the movie. Easily in the top MCU or comic movies ever. There's a lot of super smart stuff going on in there. I didn't think of it till after talking with friends but when Peter is first talking with "Fury" and mentions Captain Marvel in the list of other heros who could help, Fury says something like "you dare invoke her name". at the time i thought that was weird, but then you learn it was a skrull the whole time, so he was basically breaking character while playing Fury and being super reverent to her.

I also think the movie was sort of meta in appreciating the contribution the special effects crews role in all these movies by basically making the villains be sfx guys basically making a movie happen out in the real world with mocap suits, script writers, etc

Finally saw it!

I thought it was a great movie. Toned down so they can start building things up again.

I'm really looking forward to seeing a more mature Spidey soon though. Something not in his teens, but they'd have to skip a few years in the MCU again to do it.

Same here, really disappointed I put this one at the bottom of all the spidey movies, the first 3 original movies with Tobey are my favorites by far!!!

Mind sharing what you didn’t like? I’m not going to flame anyone I’m just really curious if I missed or overlooked something

One thing I really was lost at was the end

....................SPOILERS

When mysterio is playing wounded, and then the real one tries to shoot Spider-Man and he uses his peter tingle and grabs the gun.

I IMAGINE that’s what happened because it happened so fast I was lost, my buddy and sister didn’t get it either

That’s the only thing that kind of had a hiccup to me

I too was really confused with Beck's death on my first watch. Saw it again for the second time tonight and I think I understand now.

When he gets shot at the end of the hallway, that was the real Beck. He quickly cloaks himself and has a decoy projected on the ground leaning up against the wall in which Peter interacts with. The real Beck (actually suffering from the fatal wound to his stomach) steps to the side to sneak up behind Peter cloaked by the remaining drones and tries to shoot him.

It's either that or both were an illusion and he's still alive. Or the Beck that tries to shoot Peter is the real one, but fakes his death. I guess we'll have to wait and see...

Ohhhh!!! Ok!! That does make a lot of sense now!!

Stan Lee dubbed Quentin "Master of Illusion" in the PS1 videogame Spider-man.
With Mysterio you can never be sure of anything as he lives up to his name & reputation. That's why I love the fact that they picked him as the (next) villain for this movie.

This is how I see it. Also he seems pretty dead especially since the AI confirmed the body was not an illusion.

I expect him to show up as part of the Sinister Six
Remember Mac Gargan's boast in Homecoming about having friends on the outside who would love to have a swing at Spidey? I personally don't think this is the end,but rather the start of that teaming up

I really want him to come back with the Sinister Six, but after seeing it a second time I'm more convinced Beck is actually dead than I was the first viewing. However, the crazy thing about this MCU Mysterio is he's just a CGI character, so anyone can be Mysterio as long as they have a motion capture suit and the tech. If he returns in any capacity, I expect his team of illusionists will join forces with the Sinister Six and have Beck haunt Spidey from the grave.

...Having said that I'm still not 100% convinced Beck is really dead. He's a super smart guy and he obviously had contingencies in place. Let's also not forget that he had control of Edith for quite some time. I find it strange that she specifically says "All illusions are down" instead of something else. Beck and his team could have inserted a back door into Edith's algorithm to allow remote access or something. If anyone can fake a death and convince everyone, I'd wager it'd be Beck.

Well, the counterpoint there would be if they're smart enough to add a back door, they'd be smart enough to remote Peter's access all together so he could not just pick up the glasses and turn the whole thing off.

Also i'd add, if these things were pure illusions, it would have been a lot easier to see through them. They were visual only, close your eyes and feel. Plus, to create all those effects with all those drones, you'd think someone's radar would have gone off with a swarm of dots. I don't recall anything about them not being able to be seen by radar.

I liked it very much but I wasn't blown away because SPOILERS: the plot seemed a bit weak to me around how Mysterio gets Tony Stark's sunglasses, that being a fundamental factor of the story. Also Peter seemed to act like a stupid kid all the time, making some very stupid decisions.

Anyway I enjoyed it, Mysterio was super cool and the portrait of teenage school trips was great. It brought me a lot of memories of my teenage school trips: the love, the good times, the stupid guy who has to be cooler than you at all cost but nobody takes seriously, the teachers trying to be cool...It was funny and pretty accurate.
