Not a Miles Morales fan myself,and besides: Peter has only just started his adventure as Spider-man.That and the build-up of the Sinister Six if all goes well deserves a chance to prove itself before moving on.
I saw the movie today and I was excited to see Mysterio on the big screen ! Very well done,especially the battle between Spidey and him was as you would expect from "The Master of Illusion" as Stan Lee once described Mysterio.I loved the mind-tricks and hologram technology,and how that ties into Civil War (B.A.R.F. Tech).Less (relying on) drones and more Mysterio in their fight would have been better.I personally feel that the emphasis of utilizing drones as weapons to attack Spidey belongs to Spencer Smythe when he was working for the Kingpin.
Quality-wise it felt like the first movie was better; the opening scene with the in-memoriam felt amaturish and over-the-top,as well as the jail break and extras that accompanied Spidey.Mysterio giving a speech to a bunch of forrmer employees that now sort of posed as his personal cult,as well as Ned and Betty being a couple was weird to watch,although I understood the beef these people could have had with Tony. J.K.Simmons as J.J.Jameson was only appropriate and for me personally really added to the atmosphere (however brief),although they could at least have given him a wig to make him match both his appearance from the Tobey Maguire version as well as the comic books.
Furthermore the restaurant scene from the trailer was omitted from the movie.I guess that becomes accessible on blue ray eventually...
I thought the movie overall was very entertaining and Mysterio really stole the show.Hats off for Marvel for producing another blockbuster.I can't wait to see what's next
