Likely an illusion or villain made by mysterio. If I recall, one of the common "origin" stories for his characters these days is that he tries to set himself up as an adored hero, but often stages villain attacks to do it. sometimes completely fabricating the villain, sometimes "hiring" or otherwise freeing a villain, so that he can grab them again in a place that he's laid all of his various illusion causing tech out at (which usually goes horribly wrong, leaving a real hero to stop things, and mysterio vowing revenge, even though he's the Muppet that caused the problems).

I was just talking with my friend and I have completely forgotten this!! Your exactly right!

I can’t for the life of me believe I forgot this about him

Now, if they're saying that Nick Fury and his, still reasonable resources, can't handle mysterio, for better or for worse, then they're cranking mysterio's threat level a LOT. That or he's not even the main villain.

Thanks for sharing the teaser! I've been searching and waiting for it.
I'm SO excited they included Mysterio's helmet and can't wait to go see this movie!

Teaser looks great! Always wanted to see Mysterio on the big screen and he looks really promising - suit looks great. I'm also loving the new Spider-suits!

I just hope they brighten up the colors in the final film - this teaser looks more muted than Homecoming did which is a bummer.

I watched the trailer several times and it occured to me that Spider-man's Spider-sense never went off when Nick Fury started to speak from behind the door.Howcome? Mysterio has his ways to mislead Peter's Spidey-sense from what I remember from the comics, just like Venom did.Could it have been him instead of Nick? Correct me if I'm wrong.

The way he looked at Peter and the way he spoke to him gave me the impression that he was in fact Mysterio/Quentin Beck, disguised as Nick Fury.Anyone else got shivers from that scene? The more I watch this trailer, the more it feels as though this entire 'cooperation' between Nick Fury and Spider-man was staged by Beck...
Just a hunch

I was waiting for you to chime in on Mysterio. I knew you had to be a fan judging by your avatar!

possibly, and it wouldn't break my heart, but they've been pretty lax with the specific nature of "spider sense" I can only think of one time where it even happened, and it was while he was looking out the wrong side of the bus to see a giant floating razor blade doughnut in the sky. He got a second's heads up before everyone else on the bus went "OMG! RAZOR DOGHNUT!".

That, and if anyone in the MCU is going to get the drop on spidey, it's Nick (at least as far as the films are concerned). You're talking about THE super spy.

+1 on Spidey sense lack (Connors' lab scene in Garfield franchise), but Nick Fury had no superpowers.Hence my question, because skills cannot beat enhanced capabilities,no matter how hard you train.I guess time will tell whether that was really Fury.

I assumed it was because Nick pose a threat as he didn't want to hurt Spidey, but that implies that the Spidey sense can determine intent...

Not an avid reader of the comics, but wasn't the Spider Sense more of a warning about danger instead of a precognitive alert of anything unusual happening? If Nick was going to shoot him with the Tranq gun then the Spider Sense would have gone off, but since he posed no danger it was just a surprise.

How cool is this
