So Doritos on twitter did a giveaway of multiple Spidey suit as part of their "incognito doritos" promotional campaign for Spider-Man: Far From Home, I was fortunate enough to be one of the winners, this is what the suit looked like when I received it:

I was very surprised to see that it fit me so well considering it was a "one size fits all" type deal, it's loose around the arms but the wrinkles go away as soon as I get into my Spidey poses so it's not a big deal. The black sections of the costume are all screenprinted which is very nice. My intentions right now are to make this an even more accurate suit to wear to New York Comic Con 2019, it's not perfect but it has A LOT of potential.

One of the first things I did was removing a plastic bag that came attached to the back of the suit, it was part of the gimmick and you're supposed to use it to store the suit there when it's not being worn, and fold it against your back when you're wearing it...you can see it poking through a little on the pic above. Detaching it was easy enough, just ripped apart some seams and it came right off...

After that I started puffy painting the red texture on the suit, I had a bit of an internal debate over how to approach this, as the suit already had the dots printed on the design but they were clearly more spaced out and slightly larger than on the movie suit...so I was torn between using those dots as reference for where to apply the paint or trying to fill in with more dots wherever I wanted, I ended up choosing to just follow the dots that were already on the suit and I'm very glad I did, as I feel like although not as tiny as the movie dots...it definitely has the same neat and almost screen-printed look that I wanted to get, they're organized enough to the point where it doesn't look like it was done by hand.

currently working on the chest.

The things I'm planning to do next are:
1-Chop off the original mask and add a zipper on the back of the neck on the suit
2-get a new mask and puffy paint it, get some new lenses and a faceshell
3-Still need to figure out what to do for the black strapping but as of right now, I might just go with black puffy paint for it

Also before anyone else comments on this: YES I am aware this was a collector piece and YES I know it loses value because I'm messing with it, I would never sell this costume and it was free...I didn't have to pay for it and I currently can't afford to get a different FFH suit...let alone a screen-printed one, so why not have fun and try to make this one look a little cooler. I'm very excited about this project :)

A prop maker that doesn't modify a base piece? That's usually the first thing most of us do after acquiring a prop replica! You didn't modify a screen used original suit, it's a replica. IT's looking good by the way.

Just figured I'd address it since I've gotten a couple comments about it on other sites, thanks!

Wow! Hadn't heard about the Doritos contest, but congrats on winning! The suit looks pretty good. Any ideas on who made them?

I totally forgot I made this thread, here’s some updates:
I’m completely done puffy painting the red. Planning to use dragonskin for the black strapping, but I wont start doing that until next month at least.
I also cut off the mask and tried it on with my old Homecoming mask and faceshell, unfortunately the colors don’t match up exactly so I’m still planning to buy a more accurate mask and faceshell...but I think it’s good enough to wear at comic con. Hi res pics will be posted very soon

Awesome build! Lucky guy! I’m about to do my first puffy paint job ever on a Spider-Man 2 costume and I have no idea what type of paint to buy or where to get it. Any hints?

I recommend the Tulip brand of puff paint, very reliable and looks great on suits. There're two versions as far as I'm aware, the puffy kind is a matte color while the slick kind is shinier. If you want the webs to last longer and not break or crack as easily, you could mix it with some Liquid Latex. For a Spider-Man 2 suit, I'd recommend their metallic silver to replicate the urethane webbing look. If you wanna do the brick pattern in the red and blue areas, their red and blue paints should work well, although I'd recommend getting multiple applicator bottles for the thinner, more steady lines. Hope it goes well dude, good luck!
