SPFX stole my money! - Restored with update in post #45

Hi, Not the happiest of first posts but wanted to add my experience of SPFX AKA Kosmic kustomz when he stole my $2552.

I trained as a props maker in Londons West End at The Central School of Speech and Drama which was where Carrie Fisher trained before leaving to film Star Wars. Since then I've worked in theatre and TV making props for shows like Torchwood and Dr. Who.

Will try to keep this as short as I can as I think PRED1535 has summed it up as we have had very similar experience as I'm sure now from reading many more have. PRED1535 and myself have talked previously.

I bought four items in Nov-Dec 2010. ANH helmet, ESB helmet, chest armour and a painted set ROTJ helmet and chest shoulder armour he told me a buyer had backed out on. All of a sudden we had the biggest snowfall in a very long time in the UK and airports were closed for some time.

There was a massive backlog of post and parcels with hospitals having priority. I did not know about the 45 days with ebay to make a case. I contacted what ever his name is and was told been outa town and would get them off. Waited again, nothing and you know how this goes.
Eventually nothing and would not reply to my emails.

Ebay would do nothing and as a result with other things in my life I became very ill indeed. After months of medical treatment I recovered but told too late to follow this up in different avenues I tried. Until NOW!

My sister just told me about a new internet fraud department of the Police in the UK who will deal internationaly. So will be contacting them soon once I have a little more evidence. So if anyone wants to share details just like PRED1535 asked please contact me so I can pass on when interviewed.

It looks like some others have been a bit luckier on ebay and got away in May and June this year 2012. They didn't recieve items, put bad feedback and got their money. He is now not a registered user. If you still want to view his feedback. head over to ebay. Next to the search box you will see advanced link. After clicking go to the left hand pane where you will see "Find a member" Click then in the name type w-c-fx and enter the validation check code. You will now see the feedback also you can see previous ID by clicking link. I wonder if Ebay have finally listened to us that they have been harbouring a criminal. They didn't seem to care.

Anyway I hope to talk to a lot of like minded people here who enjoy props as much as me.

Just been told my efx is ready, Can't wait!

For now thanks for reading guys.

Although currently no actual offers can be found online,
it certainly makes sense to bump this thread from time to time.

I was one of this "lucky" guys who - at the end - received their order.
It's now exactly one year since then. But it was no easy thing.

After my order, I was willing to give the guy the time necessary to produce the thing.
Shortly before the expiration of the appeal period on ebay I wrote him
that I would soon need to report a problem case. (I am a rather cautious person).
He should, however, not to worry about if I will soon get the order.
There followed the usual excuses from him, as described in this thread.

Two days before the expiry of the appeal period on ebay,
I had still nothing in my hands an I reported a problem.
One should do this in any case of non-delivery in the given appeal period!!

A few days later I had the helmet :rolleyes

With a mixture of pleading and anger, he called on me the next day to withdraw my reported problem,
otherwise he would no longer authorized to sell on ebay.
For legal reasons, I have done that (a few days later... :love). Finally, the business was now completed correctly in my case.
That he disappeared a few month later from ebay surprised me not.

Even though it is a perfectly respectable product, I would never buy anything from him again, especially after what I've read here.

I'm so sorry for all the folks who have lost their money.
I really hope one of you guys has met him in person in the meantime :behave
