Hello guys, as a fresh registered noob in the forum i want to show you the spartan costume i made with Gemini Khan.

It's made of sintra, bondo, wood for the sword and for the shield, acrylic and insulation foam for th shield, leather and fabric.

Great work man,really...but for a spartan your skin is a little bit white.Two times in the sun or self tanning lotion and you would be perfekt!:cool

ah ah! thank you guys! Actually the guy wearing the costume is my friend and co-maker Gemini Khan a new registered here as well.

Anyway, it was april and we spent 10 days building the costume closed in a dark room, never seeing the sun to complete the costume in time for the contest which we won :cool

i was whiter than him! :lol

We're very glad you guys appreciate our work and thanks for the welcome. Actually we're going nuts to make copies of that stuff...I've really wasted pounds of silicon rubber but still can't get a good result on the copy.

IF any of you have any suggestions, that would be GREATLY appreciated. THanks guys.
 
Great pics! (Met you at the 53rd GM forum). As for other ideas, I started a thread here for gathering ideas and references so we can make them easily and inexpensively. I like the cardboard and apoxy method and am going to give that a try. Please feel to exchange ideas as well.
 
Looks awesome.

You do look a bit pasty white, so here are a few tips.

1. There are sun tanning lotions that color and darken your skin. You may want to consider achieving that "out in the sun look"

2. Consider also some additional makeup or color (you might be able to use the same lotion) to darken the shadows and emphasize your muscles similar to how the muscle highlights on Spider-man's film costume are painted on.

I know (2) is used by some in the modelling industry to enhance the cleavage of female models.
 
Awesome work you 2!!! Seriously killer shin armor you got going on there. Good luck on the making copies part. I am more than certain the fine people on these forums can help you get that happening!
 
thank you! The costume has been modified since the pics were taken, now the shins have a ridge that goes all around, much more accurate, also the helmet has been implemented with more accurate weathering

Well, the plan was to use a self-tanning lotion or whatever, but we forgot it :D eh eh eh. So I had to go around white as a mozzarella. Also, a couple of pounds more of muscles would have been truly appreciated...eh eh eh.
