Spare Parts......

So i was in getting my car serviced last week and hadn't been in the office for a while. The garage is run by a friend of the family.I'm paying for my bill and I notice these sitting in the office and was just blown away.Apparently they had a guy working for them last year who did these. They are all made from spare parts lying around the work floor of the garage-fuel rods, spark plugs, bits of old metal, fan belts, etc.I just thought they were amazing and persuaded him to let me take pics and post them here and on my site.I am hoping to track the guy that made them down and commission him to make me a General Grievous in the same vein. That line from ROTS:
"The fighting will continue until General Grievous is spare parts."
Well hopefully the fighting will stop soon then!:lol
Anyway here's the pics of the Jango (about two feet tall) and Watto (about one foot).Apparently he also did life-size Alien and Predators!!!!

I just thought they were well cool!
:thumbsup

nice, seen similar ones before but they're usually of robocop or an endo. reminds me of that guy here in the uk that made a full size episode one 3p0 out of old bear cans and spares.

Very nice! The man definitely has talent. I'm always amazed to see what people use to make into art. Thanks for the pics.

I have a Fett one (though not as nice as that one) and have seen R2, 3P0, Vader, Alien and predators at various places and events during the past few years.

When the wife and I toured the UK for vacation this past year, I saw a lot of knights and robots done in the same manner all over the country, but they were only about a foot tall and not half as good as the ones you're showing. Since all of it can't be the work of a single person, I'm guessing that it's a new "art" trend.

I almost bought one of the knights I saw, but it was pretty heavy and then I thought what a pain it would be to get it through customs at the airport. :rolleyes

If I had the space to display the Jango I would have bought it there and then but I dont unfortunately. If I can get hold of the guy I will try to get a 12" Grievous made as that would be so sweet. They look even better in person as my camera I had with me just doesn't do them justice. The weight of them too as they are HEAVY!Glad you all like them!

I've seen people making things like that before. Never Star Wars themed though.

Very cool :cool
