If anyone is building or costuming in the Columbia, SC, area, I would like to offer my services as an assistant/apprentice. I'm trained in graphic design, but would like to hone my sewing, 3D modeling, sculpting, and especially casting and molding skills. If anyone is working on anything and would like an extra pair of hands over the next year, please let me know.

I live in Charleston, I have already built an iron man suit using the pepakura, fiberglass, car bondo method. Now I want to try a Groot. I plan on using stilts, then making plain foam torso legs etc etc and the cutting pieces of foam in to random wood shapes to glue on to them. What could I use to make a nice mold of an actual tree to get the patterns and then cut them out to fit my foam pieces? Does that make since?

I live in Columbia! I'm wanting to get started with a Deathstroke from Arrow. My skills are at level 0, but I'm crafty and am a quick study. Do you know of anyone with a vaccuform table in the area and do you have any Pepakura skills?

The first time I ever used pepakura was building my iron man suit. It is very mind numbing and monotonous. But it is very rewarding when you are sitting there cutting, folding, and glueing then all of a sudden you can see the piece you were trying to build.
