So I watched this movie tonight to avoid bad traffic up here in Seattle and I must say... I actually really enjoyed it. I expected it to suck and was pleasantly surprised. Am I alone?

I haven't seen the movie yet, but honestly, the previews don't look bad. Glad to hear it was enjoyable for ya. I'll probably put it on my Blockbuster online queue.

The kid that plays the main character was in that "She's out of your league" which I rented not long ago, and I kept thinking he sounds kind of like Christian Slater at times the way he talks. :lol

Well, I know what people will say but I thought this movie was one of the worst things I've sat down to watch. My son wanted to go see it and he too was pretty bored about halfway through it. Everytime I saw Cage I wondered if he was thinking "I wouldn't be in this if I hadn't of trusted that lawyer of mine and lost all my money" -- The love story was just fodder to divide up the magic scenes that were nothing that you haven't already seen in the other films released earlier this year. It's just my opinion but I'd rather have a root canal than watch this again.

Jet, tell us what you really think! Ouch!

Sounds like a made for cable tv film, not a major theatrical release.

I also reallllly enjoyed it. It was alot of fun. Which is something missing these days in alot of releases.

John

p.s. And NOT just because I have a strong ring fetish, but damn...I NEED the ring!

Saw it today, it wasn't bad. Pretty much what the trailers made it out to be, with some neat cameos that I wasn't expecting (keeping it spoiler-free, so I'll just say the two women in the flashback). I probably won't buy it, but I don't regret seeing it.

What if you haven't seen other movies with magic in them this year?

Not that I intend to see this in the theater, but would you say it warrants addition to a Netflix queue?
