My bet is that either way, Jax and Tara are done. She's either going to get killed (the Cartel is still saying she has to be whacked) or Jax is going to go the meet with the Irish Kings and get locked up again...or both.

Knowing how much they love to keep badguys around ad nauseum. I bet Jax gets caught at the meet and sent up for like 5 years. Since Clay won't be at the meet, he recovers and solidifies his control over SAMCRO, Tara moves away (if she's still alive) with the boys and Jax comes back to nothing and has to start all over again. Gemma will realize Clay can't be ousted without Jax and go right back to being his old lady.
 
Agreed on Tara getting better and better. Her 'I would stop if I could' and "I learned from you" and "because it went so well last time' lines were brilliant...
 
Just started watching this show. Started from season 1 on netflix and just finished season 2. It's one of the only shows that really sucks me in. My wife was talking to me for a full minute without me realizing it I was so zoned out to this show! :lol So who is going to make a run of Nerds of Anarchy hoodies?
 
Why has there been a biker crying in the last few episodes? Are they looking for Emmy nominations? I still love the show and the "cameo" of Lenny.

Have you noticed how much they say "I love you."?

These guys wear their hearts on their sleeves.

I know only one former biker and he's kinda sorta like that... very raw emotions. Wouldn't want to stereotype though... Just an observation of the show.
 
If I remember right, they've always said it often and have been regularly huggy with each other.
 
I thought it was kind of silly, having Tig go off on his own and then have him crying and ducking into the bathroom. Plus he failed on his vendetta, not unlike the way he failed to kill Opie once. The characters have certainly become softer this season, and much less driven and focused. The club doesn't seem to mean a damn thing to any of them any more.
 
I don't know that they are softer, just more emotional. They actually seem more hot headed and irrational.

I tend to think it's falling apart because

1) Jail time - They lost touch with the 'family' aspect and were hardened to the whole 'trust' value

2) The leader (Clay) got sick and his selfish ways resurfaced It's just realistic that people who are in charge set the tone for the groups they lead. Clay is clearly not looking out for anyone and that is sending out warning signals to everyone else that they better look out for themselves.

That Tig thing bugged me too... on the one hand I understand why Jax lied to the club, to protect Opie, but by just trusting everyone would wait for the club to decide and not setting the tone right away that he had a plan to retaliate, he's made a bigger mess.

Eventually Tig is going to find out Opie shot Clay and that now because of another mistake he made, the club is in deeper... That guy is going to be seriously messed up.


I keep going back to what I said when I first started watching this - it's like a soap opera for bikers. haha!
 
Not as wham bam as the last season finale, but this one had some good moments.

Trying to be vague so as not to spoil, but don't read if you worry about that...


I love that they are getting back to what I first liked about the show - the idea that Anarchy reigns not because crime is so great, but because the players so often include the law makers and enforcers who are supposed to be the 'good guys' but who are really in on it all for their own personal or political motivations, just using civil society's approval (and tax dollars) as their power and funding.

The flip in the first 5 minutes was out of left field, but it totally makes sense.

The courtroom scene was a good way to wrap up a great character, but I hope he comes back.

Also - the scene at home with Jax and Tara REALLY got to me.

I LOVE HIM that he told her the truth. As much as I wanted him out, if Jax going to start being honest and bring back some true heart and brotherhood to the club, that would be worth watching him do.

I'm so glad they didn't kill off Juice. When he strolled into church with the weight off his shoulders, I cheered. Same goes for Chibs taking his spot at the right. That's two years in a row that they've ended the season with some glimmer of hope. I just wish Ope had made a dramatic entrance as well.
 
I completely agree about Juice, but I actually like what they did with Opie. I think it makes sense.

Jax really needs to earn back his trust and loyalty. Opie has lost EVERYTHING while Jax has had the support of the club to help him not lose anything all while he was trying to get out of the club and backing its drug connections? Totally uncool. Sure, Jax has all sorts of excuses for everything, but he was trying to do exactly what he begged Opie not to do: get out. So now, not telling Opie why he's staying in and to just trust him was really audacious. I don't blame Opie for not showing up, not at all. If Opie would have walked in at the end, it would have made things too easy for Jax after all he's done. He needs to have something to work towards, something to prove.

Opie not walking in makes Opie stronger and WORTH the fight to win him back. :)

If Jax had TOLD Opie like he did Tara he might have won back some loyalty, but he didn't. So for now, he's got what, 4 guys at the table? Really looked sad for him. I couldn't help but feel that he could turn it around, though. The acting in that scene seriously portrayed all of what Jax has been going through and what led him to take that seat. So well done. I love this show for that.

Oh, have to also say how cool was it that Bobby was playing the guitar??!

ATF secretly encouraged gun dealers to sell to suspected traffickers for Mexican drug cartels to go after the "big fish." But ATF whistleblowers told CBS News and Congress it was a dangerous practice called "gunwalking," and it put thousands of weapons on the street. Many were used in violent crimes in Mexico. Two were found at the murder scene of a U.S. Border Patrol agent.

ATF officials didn't intend to publicly disclose their own role in letting Mexican cartels obtain the weapons, but emails show they discussed using the sales, including sales encouraged by ATF, to justify a new gun regulation called "Demand Letter 3". That would require some U.S. gun shops to report the sale of multiple rifles or "long guns." Demand Letter 3 was so named because it would be the third ATF program demanding gun dealers report tracing information.

I's not surprising that Kurt Sutter pulled some storyline from the news headlines.

I liked that Bobby was playing the guitar....was that his vocals, too? I haven't seen the soundtrack playlist yet, but wonder how many songs he of Katy Segal may have on it.
 
Does anyone else feel like the finale was kind of a cop out? I think they had everything set up to a point that if the inevitable busts and hits had gone down, it would have pretty much ended the series or at least, removed most of the Jax vs Clay conflict.

I wonder how much of next season is going to be Clay trying to get the club back or if the focus is going to shift to Gemma vs Tara with Gemma being the heavy.

Don't get me wrong, it was good, the cartel twist definitely took me off guard. When I saw the Hummer pull up at the staging area I half thought they were going to get out and blow all the LE folks away.

In the end....nothing really happened. It felt like they took a Mulligan to me.
 
I got that same feeling, but I don't think it had to be that way. The premise of the twist was fantastic, especially considering it is not far fetched at all and as I said, it brings back in the idea that we really are all living in anarchy, with no rule of law if the law keepers are law breakers too... BUT, the way it was carried out and went down was non-climatic.

I too thought they were going to start a shoot out. THey could have played that up more. Ah well...

In my mind, the climax of that episode was Jax's conversation with Tara. What will he say? That was amazingly well done, considering all that lead up to it, the only thing that would have made it better would have been if he had talked to Opie after, so that we found out when she found out.

Still great though. Love this show.
 
The anti-climactic, cop out resolution is kind of a thing for the series, though. Remember last season, when Clay and Jax were just like "Oh yeah, I was never going to be working for the Feds. That was totally the plan! Sorry Jemma, gotcha!"

It's fine, though. I felt like the resolution here was at least somewhat believable, and it gave Jax the reason he needed to stay with the club without letting Jemma win. I still wish Clay had just died, but I guess that can wait.
 
Well, it took Hamlet a long time to exact his revenge so I would have been surprised if Jax offed Clay already. And Jax killing a weakened and pathetic old man in his hospital bed is hardly entertaining. I'd prefer to see them go to battle when Clay is 100%.

I really liked the finale, the last shot of Tara and Jax fading into Gemma and John was also not surprising. But I found it oddly satisfying as a narrative and an interesting way to cap off the season. I think though, it was all about Gemma winning and getting what she wanted. We saw Jax and Tara through her eyes for a moment.

I do wonder if Tig and Clay are going to be subverting Jax's agenda next season. Tig looked none to happy about being asked to move down a chair.
 
You know what I would do: a flashback episode of young JT, young Gemma, Clay, Piney, back in the day... Hell, START it in Vietnam where they all meet - like JT saves Clay from near death and that's how they become friends... We get to finally see some of the rich history here...
