Solo Bespin outfit....

Hey all, I'm looking for tips on a quick and dirty Han Solo Bespin costume, it's for halloween, and I'm on a budget, so I'm more than willing to go the "close enough" route as opposed to SA. I already have a close enough jacket, but I need a little help with the shirt and the pants.

Is there anybody that offers a good shirt? How about the bloodstripes on the pants, what's the easiest way to go about that? And, is there a reasonably priced holster/belt around? Or should I DIY that?

Thanks in advance....

There's a seller on ebay that does bloodstripes. They are only long enough to run to the top of tall boots so if you want to wear the pants without the boots, ask him to send an extra couple of strips. They sew on to pants quite well. I got some 'close enough' pants at H&M for Bespin.
For ANH trousers, there's a line of pants at hot topic, the 'indie fit' jean which comes in a sort of medium/dark blue.

Hmm, I will have to go check H&M. Although, aren't Dickie's close enough as well?

The problem with those IMHO is that they're too baggy/bulky. If you can tailor them in they would work well enough but you can get much more fitted clothes off-the-rack.
I'm biased 'cause I like to wear more mod-fit clothing anyway.

well...you already have the jacket, but if you're wanting a quick, dirty, cheap Bespin outfit, all you need is the shirt, pants, boots and binders :lol
For a cheap blaster, I'd say get the Ruby's blue and orange Han Solo blaster and paint it.
For cheap shirt, make it yourself. I made mine for about $15. It was my first attempt at making a shirt and although I know I did a terrible job, it works.
For bloodstripes, there are some on this site somewhere: http://www.costumecostumecostume.com/patches.htm

you have to scroll through a bunch of patches, but I think there are a number of good patches, so it's kinda worth it, I think.

There are plenty of good 'henley' style white shirts out there that are 'close enough' Solo shirts...converse one star did a good one at the start of the year, although it's out of the stores now. H&M. again, are currently selling a really cool white long sleeve shirt with a three button opening at the neck, looks very Han Solo and is a great 'close enough.

If you order stripes on costumecostumecostume you won't get them in time for Halloween. If you want truly budget, go with costumebase on ebay. You can make him a considerably lower offer for the costume or just the shirt and pants or whatever and he'll usually take it. Just haggle a bit. Then it's fairly easy to alter it to fit better and be more accurate if you have some minimal sewing skills. If you want a higher end (actually, the HIGHEST end) Han Solo gun belt, PM me.)
