So what have you done with your Falcon crate?

I recently moved to a larger home with enough space for me to have a dedicated display room for my collection. This means that, at long last, I'll be able to uncrate and display the MR Millennium Falcon I bought months ago.

Which brings me to a question about the enormous shipping crate in which the Falcon arrived.

Back at my old place, my wife and I were storing the crated Falcon in our living room (there was nowhere else it would fit) and using it as a table. :)

Now that I'll actually be able to display the Falcon, I'm wondering what to do with the box. It's wayyyy too big to cram into a closet, and we don't have a garage.

What have all y'all done with your Falcon crates? :confused

In my storage room, neatly stacked with all of my other prop boxes. It's amazing how many boxes you can put in a small space with some creative stacking. :)

I wish I could stuff other boxes into it. But I kept all the styrofoam and everything that went with the original packaging.. Even the inner box and stuff.

I luckily have an attic. So I took it apart, carefully folded flat the box and brought it to the attic.. then I reassembled the whole thing in the attic.

Now my cats sleep on it.

so to answer your question.. it's become a kitty bed for me.

I have a large storage area under my back room - like a second basement... so it's in there, with the winter clothes, holiday decorations, and other boxes.

If I run out of room under there, I'll probably just recycle it as other packing supplies.

Funny you should ask... I tossed all the cardboard, but kept the styrofoam crate as a cradle for a future paint job project. it is currently sitting outside in my side yard which I am finishing up with paver stones!
