So I will begin sculpting my first bucket soon and I have decided on the newer (non-Ultimates) version of Iron Man (Been playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance and lovin' Iron Man). My big question is this is my first foray into the hobby and I have really no idea how to cast things. Can anyone point me in the direction of a book or a faq on what is the best method to do this.

I'll post pics as the project progresses.

Doctor Doom may be next.

Dan Perez Studios has a pretty good tutorial on both molding and casting, though, this is mostly for resin casts - for fiberglass you would probably have to use another type of molding and casting... and if using vacuum formed plastic you need a third, which hopefully other people here can point you in the right direction of.

Good luck. :thumbsup

I greatly appreciate that and will more than likely take you up on that once I get the sculpt finished.

The Prop Builder's Molding And Casting Handbook
by Thurston James.[/b]
I picked up this book from Amazon, great reference and starter guide. The only issue I have with the book is the layout of the wording... the double-column format can make things a little difficult to follow when there is more than one example going on that's being explained. Other than that, it's great.
