Sniper Rifle prop help

For a prop like this, I would normally go to a Lowes or Home Depot and get an end cut from their scrap bin and use wood files to do the basic shape and then grades of sandpaper to finish then stain. About an inch and a half wide by about 4 to 5 inches high. So, basically a piece of 2x6 about 3 feet long and work from there. If I'm not making something that needs to have a really nice finish or needs to be a hard wood, pine will do. If you have some basic woodworking skills it shouldn't be too hard, just time and careful slow work until you have the shape you want. Although making the barrel channel takes a bit more work and patience. If not, and you have time to wait, check ebay. They have varieties of wood stocks that show up all the time and if you're patient and lucky, you can find one cheap. Good luck, hope this helps.
