While the commercial is memorable, I don't understand how that drives Snickers sales. It builds brand awareness, but being in the CPG industry, we know that brand awareness does not necessarily translate into brand purchases.
On our brands, we try very hard to steer ad agencies away from being creators of just great commercials, but toward making EFFECTIVE commercials and ad campaigns.
While everybody knows the Burger King character, that chain is struggling and those ads have not meant increased sales.
