I used some expanding foam to fill some sections of pvc pipe. Now I would like to smooth out then end. I was thinking of useing spot putty, but if anyone has any other ideas i am open to suggestions

It looks a little uneven. Sand it first before you use any filler on it. Bondo is fine, but what else do you have around? You can use a lot to fill that, even (technically) Elmer's Glue. :lol Also, what's the application? Are you going to primer and paint over it, or are you going to mold it, etc?

Plan is to give it an undercoat of paint and then rub n buff to try for a metal look.

If you want it to look smooth, I would dig out a bit of the foam (about 1/8") and then slap some Bondo in there and sand it smooth. Do it all the time.....

I suppose I could tell you I am making silencer for a shotgun as seen in No country for old men. I am not going super accurate as it is for a haloween party. I am going to be Anton. I picked up an airsoft shotgun at the flea market and with this it should idea across.
