Smallville Project Scion (Brainiac tube)

Hi everyone. I became inspired by all of your great work and decided to try my hand at prop building. I replicated the Project Scion, or Brainiac tube from Smallville using acrylic tubing with some LEDs on either end to replicate the lighting. Let me know what you think. I apologize in advance for the sub par pictures.

While I was monkeying around with acrylic tubing I decided to make a cylinder for one of my crystals too.

This picture didnt come out too well but I was trying to show what it looks like in the dark. The crystal lights up really well.

I wondered why they put the K rock there. It doesn't affect brainiac. Lex tried it and almost got killed.

I'd appreciate a parts list or at least what the little endcaps on the tube are. Or what the black goo is for brainiac

Thanks for the compliments everyone. I was a little confused myself why kryptonite would hold brainiac in the little tube :confused. I guess liquid kryptonite in vials has different properties than regular K?

As far as the black goo goes, I tried all sorts of stuff and nothing really worked. Dyed resin was a disaster. The black Venom ooze that was in toy stores last year came close but didnt quite work out since the little Brainiac containment jar wasn't exactly water-tight. Brainiac ended up escaping all over my work bench. So, I just ended up painting the inside of the clear tubing black with some spray paint and it worked out perfectly.
