Slash of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Original Design

Hello, everyone!
I have a few costumes planned for this year . This one is goingto be for the Ninja Turtle Movie premiere in August .

I am going to make a foam fabricated costume of the 5th turtle, Slash.

I plan to have my concept for the character finalized by January so I can start sculpting the head.
I have attached what I have drawn so far.

I hope to get a jaw operated mouth for this costume. I attempted it before on my last costume, and failed. I think I have learned from my mistakes, and I am ready to get this working.

I plan on molding the head sculpt in smooth-on rebound silicon, and casting the head sculpt in latex.
I know that molding in ultracal, or another stone would be easier, because the stone absorbs the water out of the latex forming a skin. I am going to use rebound, because that is what I am use to using.

Also casting in latex is a cost effective choice compared to smooth-on's dragon skin. Another advantage is I wont have to air brush silicon. It takes a long time, because of the transparent nature of dragon skin. Also the silicon paint thinner does not last long, and clogs a lot when you are air brushing.

If all else fails I will foam fabricate the head.

After watching a lot of turtle builds I have decided that the front shell, and pads will be a part of the body suit. The back shell will be detachable for entering, and exiting the costume. This way there will be no gap between the body, and shell. Also I will not have to worry about the pads falling out of place.

I will carve the foam, and I may skin some of the areas with 1/4th inch foam. The turtles have smoother skin than the creatures I have fabricated in the past. This may not mater, because Slash is a villain, and a rougher skin texture could work as a good design choice. In areas where skin folds are needed or seams need to be hidden. The 1/4th foam will come in handy.

I would love to start the body, but the size of the head will set the rest of the body proportions. So it will have to wait.
I plan to be throwing some clay/ sculpting that head very soon.

After looking through your Ganon thread I can't wait to see this one get started.
