Skechers Superhero Promo Costume Pics..UPDATED 10/12 Pic Intense

Re: Skechers Superhero Promo Costume Pics..

Markus,
I'm happy to see you consider this a cool topic. The recent 'posts' here are in fact redundant, but....they wont stop any time soon so please just try to ignore them. It's pretty obvious what their intentions are....

Damian,
Yea, fun huh? Cant wait to see you buddy! Looking forward to DC this year!

oculus1857,
Glad you like it, and thanks for the kind words. I'm sure if you ever give sculpting a try you'll find that it can be a lot easier than it seems...and extremely rewarding to you too. :)
Future projects? As I get the go ahead I'll be posting much more. :) Should be fun.....

Re: Skechers Superhero Promo Costume Pics..

Wow, I was sure that I had posted a snide remark to what had been posted here previously, but my post kinda disappeared. Must be the age really getting to me ;)

Anyway, here I go again.

I´d like to say that a professional job was seemingly completed in a professional manner. And the client seems to be satisfied with the product, so that is actually what counts (namely the balance on a bank account).

Going into detail about what is wrong or should be changed or is not perfect IMO is kind of obsolete, since it is a finished work. It´s different to replicating a movie suit by a fanboy who doesn´t have to make a living. Granted, we all want the best that´s out there, but still, there´s always going to be small flaws in projects.

I am wondering why BelmontBat deleted his question about BATS not showing some work that he did over the years. That is exactly what I had in mind and meant to write if BB hadn´t written it before.

BATS, your points of critique IMO have a legitimate base here and there.

But when you compare the "Begins" suit with the "Skechers" suit, to me it looks like there is a fanboy speaking who essentially didn´t read the first sentences that explain the circumstances of the project :

"His name is Z STRAP and was made for the Skechers 15th anniversary celebration. Character design was provided to us and we were to follow it to the 'T'.
We had a very short amount of time, 6 weeks from start to finish...and mixed in with the rest of the crazy work load we have it was not a simple task to get it all done. My only regret is the lack of time spent documenting the process and the finished suit. We simply should have taken more pics..and gotten more sleep..

To me, David stands out as one of the real masters of sculpting on this board. It´s always tough to combine hobby with "getting bread on the table".

I know that it is easy to criticize , but I hate if critique is exercised without any proof that the one criticizing is able to really deliver a superior product. At least in the case of aggressive critique. And such a kind of critique is not softened by interspersed commendations on obvious things ;)

Thanks Zen and yea, see you at DC!! Missed you guys last year.:)

ManfromNaboo,
Thanks for chiming in. I really appreciate your entire post, and I'll add that a lot of what you said is exactly how I feel about this whole 'situation'. That aside, I'm grateful for the kind words as well. Thanks again buddy. :)

Re: Skechers Superhero Promo Costume Pics..

Gabe - I was not even talking about you to be honest. (Good to see you are still around its been a LONG TIME!!! Hope all is well)

I was skimming over the comments and saw alot of "he said she said" and rolled my eyes in general. Not at anyone in particular... just in general.

Drama always seems to pop up.

Folks, be nice. Just say "nice work!" Because it is. EVEN if the mask looks a little S&M. :) THAT is what the client asked for.

Kick ass David! You did it again. Now lets get you some clients who are not SO into the bondage look so we can let our kids open their eyes and see some of your work!!

Love ya man!

Ah, I just decided my day was spent better doing something else. Nothing against anyone in the post.

So, continue on!

Re: Skechers Superhero Promo Costume Pics..

Ummm...

Angelfire... youve made almost everypost on the board in this thread... now... after being here for years???

And BATS, I seem to remember you being asked to not troll in Davids threads?

No matter what your intentions, there arent many people that wouldnt feel a little talking down to kinda tone in your posts.

It seems personal.

Not only that this is a FINISHED project. Not a WIP thread.

No I do not know David personally, but I do know of his work. You I dont know from Adam. All Im asking is drop it. Why? because the OP of this thread is getting critique that wasnt asked for, its a SHOW OFF thread.

And its not offered for sale so... art class is over.

Thanks.

Re: Skechers Superhero Promo Costume Pics..

Per your Administrative request I will not post on this thread again.

But as a final note regardless of it being a show off thread its open for comments as is every thread here. Either for people saying COOL or NOT COOL it is open for free comments. If I was trolling I would be posting on every thread he starts, which would just be sad. Just happen to come across this thread and felt like saying something. I did and now I'm done.

It is what it is and now is closed for discussion.
