Size of Darth's Tie

Hi Guys, I wanted to know how big the SS Darth Tie is compared to the MPC version. Is it twice as big, or some fraction. Don't care about the scale. Thanks,

Joe

If my math is correct the studio scale one should be about 1.5 times as large as the MPC version. 1:24 for the studio scale TIE and 1:36 for the MPC.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I searched here and a few other forums, but couldn't find any definitive answer, Cheers,

I thought Vader was sporting skinny TIEs by 1980...

As for the studio scale miniature in the first movie, the model builders started with a standard TIE cockpit ball and started building new from the arms out. As an indication of scale, they included a copy of the standard issue ILM pilot, which was also used in the standard TIEs and X-Wings, and was a copy of the Airfix 1/24 Harrier pilot with some Airfix 1/24 Me-109 pilot arms grafted on.

In other words, the original studio scale miniature was intended to be approximately 1/24 scale. I don't know what scale the MPC kit was supposed to be, but I bet if you ask at the Starship Modeler forums someone there will know.
