Well he made the trip to Scotland safe and sound - I'm at work but I'm being bombarded with pics from my wife and daughter :)

Id love to get the mostly fantasy pendant for mine but the shipping to Canada is insane, pretty much doubles the price and brings it up over 100 bucks. Too much

Really? That seems crazy for the shipping. I can't imagine it's more than $15 to ship that from here to Canada if you put it in a regular sized box.

Welcome to Canada, where everything is double or triple the price compared to our U.S. friends:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Edraven99 just had his shipped to me. I have some things to send him in Canada. Maybe he‘d be willing to forward it to you once he receives his package in a few weeks. Send a joint PM to us if you’re interested.

So Jealous of all who have received theirs. My order was February 1, 2020; no word on when it will ship so far. A Jedi must be patient...

Just a heads up, I’ve seen a few folks post about their Child coming with dents in the head.
I gave mine a look over and found that there is indeed a spot where the head is concave where it shouldn’t be. My best guess is perhaps the polyfoam that they fill these with is collapsing on some copies and pulling the vinyl skin in.

Not sure if I want to risk fixing it, but sent a message to Sideshow to see what options I have. I would prefer not to send the whole thing back if possible.

I figure worst case scenario, I’ll just pop the head off and remove some of the foam filling. Hot water on top, push it out into place and pack it with cotton filling.

If I’m doing that anyways.... may as well make it posable too...
Totally agree if you are going to go through with it might as well make it your way after fixing the indentation on the head.

If the Eyes are a perfect round shape with no notches to hold them in place. I wonder if one can remove them foam inside the head and maybe figure a way to make the eyes move. Be nice just to use your finger to move the eyes on the outsuide of the head

I pre ordered mine from Secretcompassonline.com in Jan. I sent them a email two weeks ago and told me they were going to arrive last week.
But haven't received a updates since that last reply. I ordered EFX boba fett helmet, so, I trust them.
But I was hoping I have the child two weeks ago and the wait is driving me a bit nuts

But I think the pros in waiting are the modifications done so far, from "Thumb removing rosy checks", adding Ear hair by glue or punching it in, to complete break downs of the body and adding articulation.
So, with all these references, I have a good place to start if I want to do any mods.

So after much deliberation, I decided I’d fix the head indent myself. Happy to report that the fix went very smoothly.
I believe I was correct about the foam collapsing and thus being the cause of the indent. If anyone is familiar with polyfoam you’ll be familiar with that issue.

As far as the actual process, I’d highly recommend Adam Savage’s video for the body deconstruction.
Once the body was open, I removed the head and used a fresh exacto blade to very carefully open the bottom hole a little wider. The foam was rigid, but rather soft maybe a 3 or 4lb foam? In my case, it was very clear by the appearance, whatever it was, it was mixed incorrectly. It being rigid meant I wouldn’t be able to just pick it out like I’d hoped. Turned to the trusty Dremel with a sanding drum. It cuts right through the foam like butter, but light contact with the vinyl doesn’t do much to harm it. I dremeled a decent cylinder all the way down to the top of the head. This took maybe 5 minutes at most. I bagged the head with a rubber band around the bottom to keep it nice and clean.

I blew all the foam dust out of the head with my shop compressor, and added a little bit of cotton padding. After a few seconds very gently heating it under a heat gun (be very careful of the hair) I used a wooden dowel against the padding to push the head into place. Hot water may have been a better way to do this but I was worried about the paint.
I held it until it cooled down and then packed the rest of the head very tightly with the cotton. It seems to be staying in place on its own, but I may make a little fabric cover and glue it down to the vinyl just to keep everything in place.

Just waiting on the armature wire and then I can finish this up. Apologies I didn’t take any photos through the steps. I will be sure to take some nice ones at the end of the process when he’s all back together.
