Per email they are on track to begin shipping early November.
Maybe its the angle hes photographed at but he doesnt look quite right. Im tempted to to cancel my preorder and go with the Hot Toys...
I agree with him not looking exactly like the prototype. But, he’s still light years ahead of the HT version. Those ear seams and super glossy skin are a massive deal breaker.

I’ve got both on order. Both have their pros and cons but awesomeness is not a problem for either.
This sideshow version is great. I wish they would have allowed for some possibility like arms and head tilt.
The Hot Toys will be great too but those ear seams bother me. Ultimately once I have both in hand, I made decide to sell one off.

I keep hoping that one of these companies might make a life-size Mouse Droid. I figure it might be the only life size Star Wars droid (that I want) that I might be able to afford.

After I gave it some thought, I just went ahead and also pre ordered the HT Child as well. Whatever one I like the least, will go to my daughter. She’s been asking for one, so it’s a win/win.

I think that the cloak looks too 'new' and not aged enough. But yeah, he looks MUCH better than I was expecting him to. I may have to break down and get one.
Lots of new pics on the Sideshow website of the production figure.
It also has new features besides the removable shift knob. The Child is removable from the base and has an articulated head which, going by the pictures, could swivel side to side and up and down (possibly).
