Sideshow iron man 1.1 scale bust really 1.1 scale?

Hi all.

I know this subject has been touched on in the past but I'd like to see if we can get a definitive conclusion on this.

I was told that the 1.1 scale iron man bust was slightly undersized compared to the screen used helmet. I have one and it sure does look small.

I know the suits have been paraded around in America so has anyone had the chance to see them side by side or can anyone in the know confirm any other way?

Sideshow claims that their stage 5 Arnold T-800 bust is 1:1 scale - if so then Arnold has a really small noggin'!

I think they also advertised their Dog Alien maquette as being 1:4 scale when it is in fact 1:3.

So I don't think you can put too much stock in to what they say ...

I know for a fact it is 100% true to scale.

the Green goblin was the same way, I have a original and it is small.
However it fits the actors just fine.

Hey it's Bobby! Yup - take him at his word. He does have original parts, if he says it matches up, it matches up. :thumbsup

Thomas, I'm a bit more skeptical. I understand you know this guy (so based on that it may very well be true) but with someone with only two posts and has no history here and expects to just take his word for it? I'm not calling the man a liar, but could he show some pics or be more specific? Something that will back up his claim other than, "original parts I have , My friend also built the autopsy suit as well.." and nothing more.

Having handled a Terminator endoskull (not Sideshow) and a Sideshow Ironman bust, my feeling is that both are too small. It's interesting that you bring this up because I was thinking exactly the same thing of these two props were on the small side.

I think that the only way to safeguard against a prop replica being passed off as the real thing is to make sure any castings that go out into the public are smaller than the studio originals.

Just sayin'....

Well thanks for that Funky =) good to know that my word is starting to carry some weight.. :)
Actually, You're right "Bobby C" only has 2 posts. However, I just assumed he was THIS Bobby C: Bobby C Sculptures

and the fact that he told us that he just happened to have original parts was too much of a coincidence. Before I stake my reputation on Bobby C's statements I guess I should have emailed the Bobby C. that I know from Bobby C Sculptures and confirmed that he was the same guy..... but really - what are the odds?

yeah, something is fishy... although it may just be a coincidence and he has a similar name...

Its the same Bob unless he has an imposter.

i got the same email address so unless someone is pretending to be Bob, he may just have had difficulties with his account and decided to re-register. I had a similar problem myself a couple of years ago and had to create a temporary account

Hi guys, yours truly, I had to re register .
you guys will see my suit shortly, I have been working on it in between projects for HCG.

I can't say what the scale is, because I haven't seen either, but I can say that Robert Downey Jr. is a pretty small guy. Something that fits him, is going to be too small for me.

forgot to mention, I was shocked when I seen the green Goblin helmet as well.(small)
the original Chest piece I have also lines up 100% to the sideshow bust.
all the circular Parts I have as well for the entire suit and they match up on the helmet as well, even the lower jaw piece .
I also have the original lens cast and it matches up to the inside of the helmet exact.
I might Add, the glove is small as well, I have the original and my hand dont fit in it.

Willem Dafoe (Green Goblin) is also a smaller guy (5' 9 1/2").

Thats considered small? I'm 5'10" and have never been called short. And called tall many, many times. In fact, I'm taller than most people I know... its funny though, the Green Goblin helmet made his head look so big.
