Here's a photo of a shuttle I built years ago. Not studio scale (only 4 inches high).

Lovin the Batmobile - its a little blocky and the canopy sits a little too high - but I like it none the less

Thanks, the canopy is a little high but it is supposed to look blocky! It is the Animated version from the cartoon! Everything on the cartoon is blocky!

I have been looking at the Ertl Tyderium parts for accurizing mine when I build it. It seems they got the wings pretty close, but the panel lines need to be rescribed into the wings. The dorsal fin looks off; it looks too thin from a profile angle to me. The cockpit also looks off; it seems like Ertl angled the nose downward too much. There was 2 studio models of the Tyderium, one for landing scenes and a smaller, whiter one for flight shots. The nose looks higher on the flight model, and the nose pointed lower on the landing model, so maybe Ertl patterned theirs on the landing model kit.

WRB, it's more that they used the lifesize mockup I think. The two studio models were both on display at MoM, and seemed quite close in most ways. OTOH the Ertl matches the set blueprints pretty well, and those were drawn in London from photos of the model. Then, *some* of the matte shots were painted from reference pics of the mockup while others referenced the models - so you have at least *five* versions of the ship on-screen! [IMG]

I sent Curtis Saxton some side view drawings that were a bit more accurate a few years ago, he might still have them on his Technical Commentaries page. They were drawn from the patent drawings, the large Kenner toy and pics of the original. I'm redrawing them now that I have a good collection of MoM pics.

    Cheers,
    MG
