Okay Friends, Wow what a weekend, jeep is all fixed and all good on that front, Thanks Friends for the likes and comments very much needed and appreciated. So busy day in the old shop, and I made a discovery I found some old pics of my half studio scale BSG in build process man it makes me miss it that much more. I forgot I had those pics and some of my crazy airbrushing also a pumpkin I carved into a predator. I also found some pics of my racing kart. I will share and I did get a bunch done on the mallard today as well Well what am I waiting for here ya go Friends Enjoy some Crazyness from the old

Now here is what I miss so badly I want another and will pay gladly for it

All this was done on a side of a truck for a fellow

Okay Guys as said I lost that bsg in a roof collapse and about 200 models all destoryed once that happened me and my son moved everything into me old shop for the rest of that winter and I found a very nice more secure storage complex where all rc cars I can't tell you how many models is in there way to many a whole hobby shop is in there well over 1500 models I know I have every kit to build a full size studio scale bsg which me Friend had plans on doing up very rare kits I think some might even be 2 of each one day I will embark on this just in memory of my very cool Friend one day I will have the space to bring all that here but for now I stop by there about every other week just to check on things wifey wants me to sale it all I told her maby when I am gone not ever going to happen whilest I am kicking. I have some very rare1/4 scale cars conley cobra a conley dragster 2 conley dragster engines they do run 2sprint cars with skellenger rearends rc planes rc heles a box full of skellenger rearends and parts rc engines well like I said a WHOLE Hobby shop was willed to me from me Great Friend none of his family wanted none of it 4 big uhauls full stuffed I rather me Friend be here miss him he helped me get that bsg that was crushed Sorry Guys, Well one day I will have all that here. Okay Friends, So I put my efforts on getting the eyes ready to set and some detail work on the bill then on to smoothing. I am still a long ways from the finish line here is some of todays fun. not much after setting the eyes I had a grandboy pop in on me out in the shop he wanted to stay, so entertaining him was a chore. Here is the fun happening Enjoy.

Okay Guys, I shut the shop down early today, a grandboy wanting to swing out in the big tree swing and he kept me on the move. I am always doing some kind of something out in the shop reason I called this thread shop happenings you can find it all here, from airbrushing to cutting something out of wood or plastic always something. Well That is my old laptop it is outdated geeksquad tryed to update it but it was what it was and it still runs good but can't hook up to wifi so I just use it out in the old shop it is a nice laptop just old. I do agree it is better than this windows I am rockin now that puter is a dell this one I am on now as me typest is a HP I also have another HP, but me oldest grandson hooked his phone in it to charge whilest the power was out after a storm and messed it up so now geeksquad will be fixing that one cause it cost me over a grand, puters these days Thanks Friend Jim

Yes I lost well over 200 models and my bsg which their insurance paid out for everything that was smashed I wanted the remains of the bsg but they wouldn't pay that way I thought I could get another but it was retired I am going to write the fellow and see if I can try and get another and offer a nice price he just might bite that remains to be seen some of the models was replaced with some of the funds and some was just hard to find and not knowing just what models was lost I could not go into the storage place from that entry so I retrived everything from the back entry yep it was upsetting all the other stuff is now in a very nice complex gated and strong all that was stored in my shop for about a year filled my whole shop and a room at my home Thanks Friend Jim

Maybe I am just out of the duck/mallard sculpting world, but the times I have ever seen them in pictures or pop culture, I have never seen individual feathers of wood like this! This adds a whole extra level of realism and craftsmanship. I absolutely love this

Thanks a bunch Friend, I have been sculpting wood clay ect, for 35 + years as said me friend calls me his 3d printer hope you seen the other ducks in this thread. Okay Friends, Thanks a Bunch Friends for all the likes and comments always needed and they keep me plugging along. So todays adventure has been busy, seem like not much but a whole day spent doing just this bit of work. I started setting up the back of the mallard for the feather inserts, I am trying a new thing I have never done and wont really know how it is all going to work just overthinking it again as I always do JediMechieal. This is my first time to do this never before have I tryed this. the wing feathers will insert left to right as they should then a new twist on this and all I can say is we shall see. One way or another I will have to do more cutting under the already carved feathers where the wing feathers attach then some cool cover feathers over them never done this so lets see what happens. I just about have the bill all done just a touch more on this process. So at this point I have the wing feathers cut and shaped still a bit to go before burning them also I will need to finish the rear rump and tail on top. But before this, the mallard has these crazy curled feathers rite at the tail, this I will make in the morning. I will have to becareful not to take away to much wood you can cut it away but you can't put it back here is the fun from today Enjoy

Okay Guys doesn't seem like much but the wing feathers will insert rite under the l and the r but before this the rump will need to be cut to except the wing feathers also the curled feathers which I will be making here very soon, all this will need to be in complete mode and what you see in the above pic will also be burned. I always start burning from the head back I am not sure how its going to work as said I never done this before to which the overthinking comes into play. The one wide feather on the tail is where that curled feather goes, so from the r and l will have to be finished. As said some ovethinking is happening I hope it all works this was a bunch of work today don't seem like much but after all this was done I opened me big shop door and blowed all the dust out of the shop with me leaf blower then the air hose came into play. So Friends things are about to get interesting. Lets see whats going to happen next. Thanks Jim

Okay Friends, About to get interesting got put on hold today whilest me does some more thinking on this, as said once you cut the wood away you can't put it back so some more over thinking will be in play. So with that being said now I Thank everyone for all the likes and comments. I also went on a bit of a road trip today I now have me number 3 granddaughter that makes 10 grandbabys 3 girls and 7 boys. Back in the shop I jumped over to another project waiting on the bench whilest me thinkest, Prince is now in the making from a blob of foil forming up Here is some of this fun happening Enjoy

Okay Guys, This is in the rough out stage once I get this guitar all done up then I can get down to the main sculpt, I go over and study the mallard as I go along this is just a quick project I hope. I have tohave the guitar so I will know how to do his arms Prince was known for his guitar playing I am trying to keep this simple this also has been in thinking stage now that I am thinking on the mallard I can get this out of my way and delivered. Okay Friends, Thanks for the likes and comments its what keeps me a making. So a couple days I had pics on here to share, but I wanted to clear some of my cloud storage and once me did that pics was cleared as well RATS. The past couple days I busted a move on Prince and belive it or not he is now all done and complete which I am about to share So here is prince Enjoy.

Okay Guys Prince all done ready for delivery, Now back to the mallard and batmobile as I still study the bsg. this was bashed out real quick, painting this didn't take long as well. Okay Friends, didn't do much today, I was on my way home from taking wifey to work, and seen this sale and a bug falcon I been wanting one but they wanted more than me would spend and turned around and seen this crazy armiture the guy said 5 and I said 3 he said take it this will become a droid or some kind of creature full size leaning droid another crazy quest awaits in the balence. Okay Guys this is bendy droid or creature what should it become very well made armiture to go on a nice base for something and just the parts alone was worth 3 bucks so bendy stands in the collection room awaiting droidizing or creatureizing don't know but me plate is well full back at the mallard in the morning. I did manage getting the work bench redone and it all came out nice which I will be sharing don't go anywhere lets see what happens next. Thanks Jim

Okay Friends, I really have been busy in the shop, Thanks a bunch Guys for the likes and comments very much needed. Wow have I been busy on figureing out this crazy duck and wow belive it or not I am now at burning stage yes the burn has begun. Also a bunch of feathers to be burned 14 not counting the wing and the 2 curl feathers which I will share also did get a pic of the bench redo and this bench can be folded, but it will be always used, Galactica project sits back there now as you can see all the pics layed out on it. Yes I do have a bunch to share so lets show what happened next Enjoy a bunch of work...

Redo of that bench if you go back you can see how it use to look all done ready for some kind of build I am thinking Galactica a bit bigger than half scale coming soon I hope got some predators I need to get back to just need some supplys There is more Enjoy

A bunch of patterns had to be made to make the feathers so here we go Enjoy

Yep these 2 curl feathers are on all mallard drakes they also got to be burned the whole duck has to be burned feathers attached then some painting will happen still a ways to go I do see some touch ups that need fixing things show up in pics. Well Guys lets see what happens next after all this progress along. its going to look cool I kind of layed the cover feathers on there and it all works great just to get it all there back at it in the morning Thanks Jim

Okay once again Thanks a bunch to all who follows my crazy quest the likes and the cool comments it really does keeps pushing me along. Seems like the shop is aa time machine I go in and come out hours go by and it only seems like minutes mostly when I go in and its day and come out and it be night But cudos to All my RPF Friends you Guys are the best still so much to get done I can't wait to get back on the Predator quest I will have 3 to build and paint put on a cool base this thing will be almost 3 ft tall 1/4th scale these will be a cool build supplys to finish this will be soon and I will share this project which I think I have shared some of this project a bit here not sure SOOOOO many builds on here ALL you Friends is what RPF is all about I love the learning new stuff I do try and see what all you guys on here is up to making and I love it soon I am going to upgrade to Premium member just things are tight rite now with wifey down but she is a fighter and we will make it or make something Thanks Guys Jim

Okay Friends, Its been all over the place this week, Dr visits ct scans she will have to have her shoulder rebuilt and biopsey here soon, but I have managed to squeeze in some shop time. Duck lady is popping in sometime in the morning I think she may be leaving with a duck. So I glued up some blocks for bandsawing I have one started and one cut and one gluing these will be a stringer of bluegill catch of the day trying to make 5 fish might try for 7 we shall see. So the mallard is in burning stage and this is a major time machine burning feather lines can make your eyes get all crossed see two feathers being burned at the same time, I have all this happening plus the fish and missing and hitting on the batmobile not. Yep I need to hit on this one a bit as well not to good at this juggleing keep dropping the pins. No just having to be out running everywhere which is alright a bit of a break keeps your mind fresh So Thanks Guys for all the likes I will be back in a bit with some pics thats just how its been Thanks Jim

Okay Friends, Thanks a bunch for the likes and comments Hope you understand how much it means to old me. So here is what happened next I was visited by the duck lady and yep she left with a duck which it was in a show and took a first place then she had to have it price was rite and bye bye duckey and she had a fit over the mallard and very interested in the fish we shall see Here is what happened next ran wifey everywhere then back in the shop started burning then a few hours after that I was entertaining a 6 year old grand boy but I did manage a bit on the mallard Here ya go Enjoy isn't much but man seems like its been struggle and not juggle deep breath its all good Enjoy

memories thought I would throw that one in wow don't seem that long ago been a year already duck time

Okay Guys, I am working my way around the bottom never burned from the back to the front its a bit harder going backwards. Once I have a nice band around the bottom then I will start on the back and wing feathers also all the inserts quite a few of those and every one will be burned as well this will bring in the more realistic look to the duck. I really do hope to get more done which shouldn't be any popping in form nobody so lets just see what happens next Thanks Jim
