Sherlock holmes movie tartan frock coat

Hi guys, i have been working on the frock coat worn during the climactic end scene of the sherlock holmes movie, its the one you can seen on the posters and the dvd cover. It has taken me nearly a year to source a similar tartan fabric and recreate the design, will be putting pictures up soon, if anyone else loves this coat would be good to hear from you.

I also made the velvet waitcoat with the gold buttons to complete the look.

That is a VERY hard material to match. I believe the original is a much lighter tartan that was redyed darker to make the pattern very subtle.

Beleive it or not this fabric too has been dyed three times however being pure wool it only took around 10 percent of the dye, the original was much brigher, i am pleased with the result though and think its pretty spot on, especially the frogging, buttons, etc.

There must be a way to match that cloth. I know Indy has tried. I gave up after weeks of online sleuthing.
I do like the frogging on the above.

I know that this is such an old thread, but I recently came upon a seller whom makes this coat. I cannot say anything about quality or accuracy, YET. As I do not own it. But the seller is know as CosplaySky. Google them, go to their website, and under the Sherlock Holmes department, there is one labeled Guy Ritchie Sherlock Holmes frock coat.

Ok I would love to have the tartan coat but the one on the CosplaySky just has the black frock jacket
