Shape of C-3PO's neck?

Howdy,


Just bought a C-3PO head replica. It's just the head section without the neck.

I wanted to make the neck for it but can't tell what shape his neck is. The opening on the bottom of the head is not a perfect circle.
I watched the DVDs and can't get a good look at his neck (in ESB when 3PO was decapateded by a laser blast)

Can the experts here on 3PO tell me what is the correct shape of his neck?
If it's a circle what is the length and diameter?
Or is it some sort of neck-shapped ellipse.

Don Bies has said he just used a strip of styrene curved to fit AD's neck. That's what I did on mine.
