Shane Blacks The Predator

Teaser will be showed exclusively at Cinemacon today, maybe someone will record that with a cellphone and leaks it online...

First OFFICIAL plot synopsis :sick::sick::sick::cry:

"From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled Science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.”

So they are triggered by a little boy like some sort of ancient killing mashing the DNA splicing is still a thing, and you guys better be careful around that disgruntled Science teacher!!! Because Science!

Got this from AvP galaxy ... WTF is this???

"The trailer starts off on Halloween with Jacob Tremblay’s character Rory playing with a toy box that has a toy alien ship inside of it. It’s revealed that he’s actually controlling a real alien spaceship somewhere else and that ship crashes onto Earth, releasing a lot of Predators into the wild.

The trailer then cuts to an interrogation room with Boyd Holbrook’s character, Quinn who is an expert sniper and the father of Rory. The sequence is intercut with shots of soldiers battling the Predators in a jungle – lots of gunfire and explosions and one of Predators holds one of the soliders up by the neck. Olivia Munn makes an appearance as scientist Casey Bracket and she states that the Predators are upgrading on every planet they visit. She is later seen handling a weapon."

I'm interested in the titled project 'space suit' <--- which was supposed to be something linked to the P1. You know regardless of how the movie sounds, I'm sure there will be cool props, I hope... I really hope i'm not wrong.

Yeah ... let's hope studio adi didn't let us down (well with the designs that they had some creative freedom with ... I doubt they wanted to put pants on a pred ... feel sorry for those guys)

I wouldn't get your hopes up, though I liked those early pictures of the biomasks, they looked ok. Get ready for DOOM XVIII: Cargo PredaTOR pANTS EDITION!!

I thought I was reading a snippet from one of my own earlier posts in this thread, but IMDB shows the same synopsis content.

I love the the inclusion of the disgruntled science teacher and the "explosive reinvention" description, can't help but think of explosive diarrhea when reading the rest of the plot synopsis. Sounds like a great movie in the same way that finding out you're HIV positive is the start of a great day. Good job, Shane.

So yeah ... my prediction for this film is it will have decent to good acting, good action, some nice shots, one maybe two somewhat interesting looking Predators and (as ironic as it is) will be almost completely devoid of the DNA of the first two films.

Strange for a franchise to get lost like that lol

What's with having to either bash the original type characters or creating a hybrid in order to get a new character(s) over? We see this in the newest Star Wars and Jurassic Park trilogy. Are they having that hard of a time writing a credible story that they need to go this route?

I'll wait until the comic con footage comes out, but it looks like a "wait for Netflix" film.

I think it boils down to them trying to turn stuff into cash-cow events. They take something that was popular, and then ask "how can we make it more popular raking in a larger crowd?"
The answer they come up with most of the time is "make the main attraction bigger".
Only way to get bigger according to Hollywood is DNA splicing/Hybridization.
How do you easily tell the half brain dead public that something is bigger and badder? Make it "destroy" the Original.
It's just lazy script writing. Pretty much everything in this story comes down to laziness imo. When Fred Decker and Shane Black work on a movie together they love this "The Outcasts save the World" thing. Same thing here again in the cast choices.
The motives of (at least the faction JH and CH belonged to)Predators are now revenge... not much honor in that.

So they aren't interested in credible stories, but instead what they believe might rake in cash (and as stupid as they are they don't realize it goes hand in hand).
