Shadow Dale Creations Review

So a while back I had look around for someone to make some custom jedi robes for me. After looking around and hearing people's reviews I came across ShadowDale Creations. I contacted them and discussed what I needed done and when I needed it. We came to an agreement on price and time frame and we were off to the races. Now just so we are aware these were not just plain average jedi robes these were custom designed to match a specific character from a comic book. I e-mailed them a handfull of referance pics and talked colors and materials with them. They seemed to be on the same page as me so I went ahead with the deal.

I must say I have had few dealings that have gone as well as this one did. Everytime I asked for an update or had questions I had an answer within a day or two. That alone I think needs to be commended big time, how many deals have you had where you pay for something in advance and then have a hard time getting ahold of the seller? Not with these guys!

I explained that I needed these robes for Celebration IV and told them that from the begining, I was told that would not be a problem since I contacted them a few months back (they had about a 2-3 month wait time but I knew that ahead of time).

So as time got near I recieved a PM from them confirming dates and measurements and what not. Once all was finalized we were off to the races. There was a short delay (a couple of days) but I was informed when it happened (I didn't have to wait for it to not show and then try to track them down they told me before it was supposed to be here it would be delayed a few days). In the end they actually ended up overnighting the costume to me so I would have it in time for my convention, at no extra cost to me! How many other people are willing to do that? Most would have just said "oops it got delayed and I shipped it ground to your house, sorry you left before it got to you."

I got the costume and it fits perfectally, and is great quality. The colors are exctally what we discussed and all of the smaller details are in the costume. The materials are top notch and look very much like the screen used style of material. I know they offer several different options for materials on their site but I wanted the best and ended up with them.

These were not cheap robes, but then again considering all the work plus materials that went into them they shouldn't be. I feel I got every penny's worth of my money and then some.

So in conclusion I have to say I am very impressed not only with the end product but with the service provided and the communication from Shadow Dale Creations and I know I will gladly be doing business with them again in the near future and I will recommend anyone who needs custom garments to them. :thumbsup

Well deserved praise for a real class act! Also, serves as a good example of what good things can happen when there is good communication between buyer and seller! Congrats to all!

It seems we usually hear about the bad transactions, it's nice to hear about the good ones as well. Thanks for posting this, as it helps us know who's good to deal with.

I have got some items Shadow Dale creations, The stuff was good quality and communication was good as well! I plan on getting some more stuff from them in the future.

DITTO for the above

oh, and and also to mention --

WE WANT PICTURES DAMMMMMMIT !

Since I was wearing the costume I don't have any pics of it. I am looking around for some of my friends who might have gotten pics of me in it so far with no luck....

Thank you so much for the kind words and praise.
We work very hard to try to make everyone happy and sometimes it's difficult but we do our best.
I have one image of the tunic that I quickly popped off, pardon the wrinkled arms. I swear linen creases if you look at it funny but it looks great. There were trousers that matched the deep brown and a cloak but I didn't get a photo of that but I'll add an image of the remnant fabric so you can see what was used.
I'd love to see the whole thing pulled together as these images don't do justice to how I'm sure he put it all together.

So far I have only been able to find two pics of me in this costume which is sad for me... But I was very happy with the end result. The costume is A'Sharrad Hett from the Clone Wars comics. And I think Shadow Dale Creations did a great job translating the comic art into real life clothing. The outter cloak was never seen in the comics I just wanted one and they made one that fit the rest of the costume very well. So on with the couple of pics I have. I am still searching for more so if anyone has any from CIV of me in this costume please e-mail them to me at Predatormv@aol.com

Shadowdale can get you into 501st and Rebel Legion. They did research the costumes enough. I perhaps did not purchase any of their costumes before. But don't know if I will.

Darn, on their FAQ, not advice on making our own.

I have to say that I for one was shocked at how nice my WOK suit came out with I pulled it from the shipping box. At GenCon in Indy, I placed first in the SciFi & Super Heroes class.
