serious question about Vader Chestbox buttons:

Does anyone has ever heard, what functions the four buttons have? What are they for. I always guessed the blue and the red button is for heat/cold control and ventilation for various surroundings.
But what are the four button for? For breathing in space? Underwater? Movement?

Does anyone has written or heard about it?

Blue/Green button is the Auto Control
Red button is Manual override
3 grey rockers are the programming touchplates
Red/white rocker is the system reset switch

Mr. Sparkle (Chris Reiff) and I illustrated the whole thing.

Thank you lonepigeon. Cool to know. Poor Vader.
Is this official, then?
I forgot, that I have this book.

Does anyone know if there was a concrete meaning for the buttons from the beginning?

Can anyone tell if the buttons or some of them have been moveable for certain shots?
(maybe I should know better, but I really like to ask :lol I would love if they had been moveable)

That's the official explanation for the buttons.
There were a couple other conflicting older sources (Tech Journal and something else). We had to compromise and make one definitive version.

The buttons did not move on the suit.
The red and green ones were solid plastic switch covers - no actual electronics on them. The "rcoker switches" were made from wood (same ones on the X-wing pilots and various set pieces like the Falcon cockpit).
