seeking simple way to attach sequins

I've been working on trying to re-create a tie like Ringo wears occassionally with his Sgt. Pepper suit. It's so tedious to try to sew on all those sequins, and quite farnkly, my vision isn't that great close up, even with my trifocals! So, I'm wondering what to use to attach sequins to a length of fabric so it can be worn ascot style , retaining fluidity, with a Sgt Pepper Costume. I tried Arleen's "ok to Wash-It" and it's kinda stiff when it all dries. Any ideas? Also, it would be great if it were washable or drycleanable. Sweaty drummers. :lol Thanks!

Any glue you use is going to stiffen things up, even if it is flexible glue.
You're not talking sewing or gluing sequins on ONE at a time are you! >>GASP!!!

I'd use the "sequins on a string" that you purchase by the yard and should be plentiful with holiday stuff out this time of year.

If you map out the different sections of colors/kinds on the tie and glue the 'sequins on a string' on to some netting in the pattern required, you'd only have to use a little glue on the string holding the sequins together, then you'd have a chunkier piece backed by netting that you could more easily sew the netting onto the tie shaped fabric.....minimal amount of glue, bigger pieces to sew with.......maybe = a happy medium...??

Thanks everyone for the thoughts....I might try the sequins on a string option....or just break down and get a bedazzler! Look out...Elvis costumes may end up in the making if I get one of those! ;-)
