They had security guards monitoring the place like a hawk, but I still managed to take pictures thanks to my quiet Canon SD600. No flash in any of them so please bear with me as some are blurry.

Dude, you're killing me. Was in Seattle in January on a biz trip and was invited to the a private party there where I would have been able to take as many pix as I wanted, but couldn't make it. I'm kicking myself now.

Huh, Gort is new since I've been there - and I see they've got the "Bubble Headed Booby" back.

They sometimes rotate out the display items. Last summer I took a friend there and the Captain's Chair had been sent out for William Shatner's roast.

Gort has been moved several times as well, he was there opening day.

They have an Illusive Concepts yoda in there? I thought it was supposed to be all original pieces. The Robocop looks to be the Bruce Hansing first version suits without the detail pieces.

Not everything in there are original.

A lot have plaques explaining they are replicas and who loaned them to the museum

I know, an old thread, but T2SF said I should visit this place. It's about 300 miles away. As soon as it is done snowing in the mountain passes, I may go. If I do, I'll take a bunch of pictures and will post them. Close-ups, if possible.

Most of the sci fi stuff has been taken off exhibit and replaced with changing themed exhibits. Right now they have a really well done avatar exhibit, and a horror movie exhibit that I worked on. I was sad to see the sc fi exhibit go, but the new exhibits are worth the trip.

Wow I had no idea this existed! Makes me actually want to go to Seattle ;) Durrett do you have any idea where the sci-fi exhibit went? It's not like they would just put it in storage, right? It's a traveling collection, correct?

I wrote to them and got this reply...

Hello Richard,
We’re delighted to inform you that the Icons of Science fiction exhibit will open on June 9th. Please find more exciting details below:

Icons of Science Fiction June 9, 2012-Ongoing

The exhibition will feature the Science Fiction Hall of Fame and one-of-a-kind memorabilia from literature, film, television, and art, including an Imperial Dalek from the television series Doctor Who, command chair from the classic television series Star Trek, Yoda’s walking cane from the films, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, and Neo’s coat from the film The Matrix Reloaded.

Our photo policy for all of the gallery spaces allows for photography as long as your flash is disabled. Please refrain from the use of tripods and monopods in the museum. If these objects are on your person when you visit the museum, you will be asked to check them in at our complimentary coat and bag check, located in the first floor lobby. I think most of it was going to travel in Asia, but that fell through. The icons exhibit is a much smaller collection I believe.

That place looks awesome! I think that is a place to visit next time we go to Seattle! Great pictures and thanks for sharing. Quick question.Do they have a stargate or anything Stargate there ?

I really want to take a trip to Seattle to go there, especially since I learned that the original 6-foot studio model of the Enterprise D from Star Trek: The Next Generation is one of the pieces that has made its way into their collection! :cool:thumbsup

Would be great to see it on display...

I went to the museum in late february. The Galactica replica was amazing to be seen in person..almost wet myself.

Very disappointed that Vulpa (copper cylon) and Col Tigh's (classic BSG) uniform were not on display. that and the Galactica was all I wanted to really see.

I'm hoping at least Vulpa will be back when the exhibit starts on the 9th as I'll be in Seattle that weekend.

I remember seeing the Alien Queen and the Power loader at OMSI in the early 90's.
