Sealing a Signature

Hey everyone,
I am super excited that Jeremy Bulloch signed the inside of the helmet I will be using for my ROTJ Boba Fett build. I want to preserve the signature while building and then have it protected and visible while i wear it to events. I believe it was signed with a sharpie. i was thinking I could spray it with some clearcoat and use some painters tape to protect it during my build.

Maybe a stupid question, but if he signed the inside, and you wear it, wont your head block it from being visible?

I was wondering the same thing myself, I'm going to a con soon and going to have some props signed. Funny I mention it the boys in your profile pic are exactly the guys I'm going to see hehe. I got a pair of baretta's that would look great with their signature on it and would love to know how to seal it as well :)

I am doing the costume for 501st and the helmet is raw. I had an opportunity to have it signed when a friend was on R and R. The signature is really for my enjoyment and adds something to it for me. I can show it off to friends when I want to. Think of it like an easter egg.

If it was a Sharpie, I would probably go with a couple of coats of water based acrylic or urethane clear coat.

I believe the water based acrylic would do the trick. Just tape off around the auto and spray a couple coats. I think i will try that :)
