SE ROTJ boba fett 98% finished

Re: SE ROTJ boba fett

Ross mate you have a fantastic lid from which to start from, if the rest of your suit is anything like that your will be nothing short of amazing. Hows the progress on it anyways, you still casting it up?

Re: SE ROTJ boba fett

Slow to no progress. Between eating sleeping and working 45+ hours a week a struggle to get any time to work on it. I'm doing the vent at the back currently then I'll be doing the ears, as he has none to speak of right now.
Thank you for the kind words though, said it before but considering the quality of your work that's a great compliment.

Re: SE ROTJ boba fett

Thanks mate, I cant wait to see your lid all finished up and cast. You can put my name down for one when you start knocking them out.

So got the studio all day today and managed to bring everything I had in of the suit for a test fit. The photos still need to be edited slightly, Sadly this is not me in the suit, and I doubt I will even get to wear it till next month. I had to get someone else to wear the suit as I was the only one who knew how to put it on. Its fitted the model great except he was a little to tall, so bear with it.

So the to do list. The Cod and blaster still need to be painted, and I need to weather the soft parts as they are way to clean and bright. Once the gaunts and neck seal come in I can get them finished and attached and I will go back in the studio and get some more shots of the finished suit. I'll be leaving out the kidney plate and the electrics though till next month as Its a mad rush to get this finished in 2 weeks. Really pleased with how its coming a long though.

What do you guys think?

Re: SE ROTJ boba fett

Stunning my friend. Just.....wow.
Now get it finished already! :p

Shame you and me never got to troop together.

Re: SE ROTJ boba fett

Thanks mate, fingers crossed It should be done this week. It wont be ready for 501st clearance but it will be finished enough for my project in uni.

I know man on the trooping thing, I still cant get over how quick you put yours together. Perhaps if you come to one of the rpf prop parties we can still meet up and chat fett.

Re: SE ROTJ boba fett

are you attending of the rpf events this year, im looking to go the Manchester event myself?

Re: SE ROTJ boba fett

Im signed up for the November one in Birmingham, Should being doing both days hopefully. Manchester is a little to far for me.

Re: SE ROTJ boba fett

Heres a little taster of the finished piece...well nearly finished. Finally got to wear the thing after 2 years of building. Needs a few tweaks here and there, everything needs to be pulled up slightly. And im going to get some lifts to go in the shoes to give me an extra 2-3 inches as I got stocky rugby legs lol. The suit is going on show for 2 weeks so this is how it will be displayed. I know its missing a few things, hoses, switchs etc... but I literally ran out of time.

Re: SE ROTJ boba fett

Beast. Would be nice to see it in person, i think your 2 years of work have well and truely paid off

Re: SE ROTJ boba fett

Welsh, Brah awesome sauce for ya!!!! This build has been one of my favorites Fett's th' man!!!!:cool:cool

Re: SE ROTJ boba fett

Thanks guys, its been a long road but I have my dream prop, and its my first as well. Everything else from now on is a bonus :lol

So Fett is going to an Exhibit now for the next two weeks, due to time constraints I couldnt get it 100% finished. Main things are the hose and flame barrels, switches and kidney armour...among other small details.

These are photos from the final shoot, with a correct size person wearing the suit. I preferred it like this as I could set the suit up how I wanted it and position the model how I wanted. Over the last two year Ive put on a little poundage, And dont really like how I look in the suit at present, so what better incentive to get back in shape.

Enough with the chit chat, heres the pics.

Although its not done, this will probably be one the last posts I make for a while. So I would just like to personally thank Art, for setting up this amazing site as well as TDH, without which I wouldnt have had a chance of making this fett. BobafettUK, for his amazing pack and lid, plus without him I wouldnt have half the stuff, so big thanks to him. Mojo fett for all my aluminum goodies, and bobamaker for my soft parts and decals. There's a few more as well so thanks to all that helped.

I can do a part list if anyone is interested as well,
As usual, comments and crit is highly welcome.
Thanks,

Welsh

maybe in a couple of years i might have something close to that, a boy can dream.

you mentioned you were putting it together to do with uni, how so? (unless i have completely mis-read something then just ignore this question)

once again, incredible work.

Thanks mate. How is your build comin along?

The intention was always to get the suit to the 501st standards and join up. But yes this is being used for uni. I'm doing a foundation year at uni, and our group is split into different groups. Designers, fashion, fine art and photography. One of the photographers in the group was doing their project on fictional characters and I let them use the boba suit for one of there shoots. The suit is now getting displayed next to a couple of prints at an exhibit for the next week or two.

that person is very very very lucky photographer.

my build...slow and steady. no time right now to do anything on it. i need make some ears and stick on (to cut a long story short )then i should have it mostly there

Never mind the photographer, you should have seem my mates face in the suit, he was the Lucky one.

Can't wait to see your helmet all finished up. Really enjoying watching the progress on it, it will be well worth the work in the end

i forgot about the guy who stood in and wore the suit for the pictures, he was the lucky one, rats to the photographer.

i think you'll have finished your next project by time i have a finished helmet.
